I have recently purchased a Sony Sony HT-XT1 soundbase to partner my LG 32LN575V TV. The soundbase has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output. At the moment plugged in to the TV I have a Youview box, a chromecast and a PS4 (all connected using HDMI and using up the TV's 3 HDMI ports). My question is do I plug these three devices into the soundbase and then connect the soundbase to the TV via HDMI, or do I leave the Chromecast and PS4 connected as they are (HDMI2 and HDMI3 on the TV) and connect the Youview box to a HDMI port on the soundbase and then connect the HDMI output to HDMI1 (which supports HDMI ARC [audio return channel])? I am guessing that it does not really matter which way I do it?
There is also the optical audio route but I believe HDMI is superior?
