I am understanding that I need to do a factory reset to fix this but I will lose all my recordings.I have a load of Tony Blackburn radio recordings (dont take the pee please)
Is there any way of saving them

This is usually a result of a corrupted time shift buffer file. A factory reset will not delete your recordings, only the recording schedule (photograph it first with a digital camera). No harm in trying but fear you will need to format the hard disk to fix this, losing your recordings.

There is no way to save video recordings, but you should be able to record the radio recordings from the box analogue outputs. Most laptops/desktops have an audio in socket that can be recorded using free audio editing software like Audacity.

Thanks for that I'll give it a try
Financially it's been a great move to Freesat and I'd buy another if this one got beyond repair
Thanks again
