I enjoy him and Oti but don't get any "sizzling" chemistry at all. There is much better chemistry (of a non romantic nature) between Greg and Natalie imo.”

BIB - I'm not seeing that either.

I thought they really connected in that AS and the lifts were amazing. Don't know what Darcey was going on about the lifts being too powerful - they matched the crescendo in the music perfectly.

It's what distances him from jay in my mind - Danny is far more consistent than jay but with Jay in some dances it felt like he really connected with the music - I don't feel that yet with Danny.”

I don't feel the chemistry between any of them really. Jay and Aliona had a real connection which IMO seems quite unique in a couple who were just friends.

Love this pair they are my favourites and want them to be the winners but the chemistry isn't there just yet but i'm sure the more they dance together it will come.

Love this partnership - full of chemistry and they are both so likeable.

Hope they get to the final - would love a final between them and Kevin and Louise.

Same here. When she dances its hard to look at her partner. She is totally fabulous.

Oti is a firecracker but Danny very much a damp squib

Will be in the final for sure but won't win as not on a journey, he arrived in the first week

To be honest I've not really noticed any chemistry between them. From what I can tell Danny stands there stiff looking like a Ken doll whilst Oti throws herself at him, screaming like a banshee. I'm actually embarrassed for her sometimes with how desperate she looks.
I felt really bad for her last year going out so early and was looking forward to seeing more of her but now she just gets on my nerves. There's no denying she's a talented dancer and I like her routines but I wish she'd put him down sometimes, she practically drools on him!

I don't feel a sizzling chemistry in an overall sense, but I see a very good working chemistry (which is perfectly fine and enough, sometimes for this show that is all you need).
I think they are well matched dance wise with the same aims (he wants to do the type of routines she'll willingly choreograph for and they'll try to please in the dance as well as push it technically speaking).

After Oti's pairing with injured Anthony and an early exit, I think Oti has a desire to dance more this series and really take this opportunity to showcase her teaching/choreographing talents with someone gifted like Danny who himself knows the benift of Oti for his own series objectives.

I think varying paring dynamics are good to have, and I'm happy to see all types of couples each series whether more dance orienatated, friendship orientated, dance and friendship, romantic orientatied with or without dance, foes with or without dance, etc, they're all interesting to see (even if at the expense of the couples).

Good, sensible post Miriam! This is their day job, they are both working hard to produce the best dances they can. And it is working!

She looked smitten last week, Danny even pushed her away one moment after the dance.

Ah, not just me then....

But I don't think Oti could care less - she just seems thrilled to have a partner who s a real contender and who will probably keep her in the show right up to the final. And that is absolutely fine by me too.

But I am a bit surprised he's not the target of more ringah flak. His movement is sharp and precise in a way that only the pro's (usually) display. He makes DVO, Gumede and the rest of the designated uber ringahs look like beginners.

Me either, I think they have a great partnership but I don't find it's sizzling, more based on mutual respect. Danny's not quite done it for me yet, when I watch the pair of them it's like I'm watching a demonstration of a routine rather than a couple loving to dance one.
Still, he has talent so I'm hoping one of the dances will just click and then there'll be some emotional engagement from him with the whole shebang.

I think it's usually women that get that, it's rather rare for a man to be a good dancer from the beginning.

You're not the only one who noticed that! At 5:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5swcogNJ-0I
I can't quite work out what they're saying. I think he say's something like, "...not now!" Can anyone on here lip read?

I switched Claudia off and I think I've got it now!

Oti: Well done...goes in for a nuzzle...

Danny: I couldn't have done it without you...gives her a shove...but don't do that now!

Despite that he didn't seem to mind her hand all over his leg on ITT this week (when Zoe was introducing the couples)

As for those of you who deny any chemistry between Danny & Oti you gotta be kidding. They both ooze chemistry especially friendly. They gel together very well. If you take a look at their training tapes on IT Takes Two, you'd see that Oti is very strict and serious with Danny and on ITT he says did alot.

The only time that Oti is very friendly with him is when they are dancing and during the judges marking. Otherwise Oti is just a serious pro dancer who wants to stay in the competition as long as possible with a good celeb dancer.

Well! That's odd because she only acts like that towards him when on camera but while training it's another matter. No play just work for Oti. Even Danny says it all the time she gives him hard trainining no cuddles going on there then!

I didn't get that impression at all from Oti. She just looks pleased to be training a good learner who dances well. She was happy around Anthony last year too. But in training she is not like this with Danny at all.

I would not expect anything to see in training videos if anything was going on, they know they are filmed, but this was an emotional moment and one can lose self control. And he did stop something there.

Yes this is it exactly, to me he dances for himself if you know what I mean, as if he doesn't need Oti to be there, Jay was quite the opposite, you could see that he depended on Alionia totally, maybe a little to much at times. Still there is a long way to go and hopefully he will find a connection.

I agree they are a fantastic pairing. We don't call her Otits Mabusty in our house for nothing.

Oti this year with Danny reminds me of Anita last year with Gleb.

Is Oti married?

She went a bit OTT at the launch show when they told her that was her partner. I know she got a muppet last year but I thought that was a bit OTT. Having said that, most of them jumped for joy, Alijaz, Janette, Karen - unless they were all doing it for a laugh.

Sizzling chemistry from where I am sat is between Daisy and Alijaz. I'm sure after the Nat King Cole dance (the ballroom fairy like one) she shrieked "I love you". I was half expecting Janette to leap off the balcony and belt her one.

Well from my non dance background he doesn't look any different to the pro's. It looked polished, classy and like you say precise in a way from the outset I cant remember before. Is there much journey frailty there? -doesn't look like it to me. Too good imo.
