I found Mondays Episodes were dragging and didn't seem to enjoy them. I don't know if it was too much Steve and Michelle and the fact that they have added more contrived drama to the Steve, Michelle and Leanne baby drama. I thought Eileen was cheeky leaving the job then expecting a pay rise. I really hope that the episodes start improving recently. I watched Emmerdale and Eastenders and both seemed to be more paced and interesting.

Eileen made me want to put my foot through the screen.
She's starting to have the same effect on me as Charity Dingle in Emmerdale.

She's got that same self-satisfied thing going on where she treats people like muck on her shoe but they all bend over backwards for her.
One of those interview questions Sally wrote for Tim should have been " Would you consider an employee who hands in their notice and quits immediately, leaving their employer struggling, then asks for their job back again, to be a reliable person? "
And then to have the cheek to ask for a raise - like they owe her something!

Grrr! I'm really looking forward to seeing her suffer, almost to the point where I'm rooting for the despicable Phelan ( never thought I'd say that )

I couldn't agree more. It's difficult to feel any sympathy towards Eileen, I can't wait til she finds out she's been mugged off! The only one who infuriates me more at the moment is that other fishwife Anna Windass😬

It's like you've read my mind! What an over inflated sense of confidence Eileen has, and what a nerve to expect to just waltz back in to the job she so recently quit. And to expect Tim and Steve to be so grateful to have her back that they'd give her a pay rise! If only they had told her to get lost.
I cannot wait for her to be left broken hearted and penniless - however I do have a feeling that the writers and producers expect us to sympathise with lovable, wisecracking feisty Eileen.

I was flabbergasted at Eileen's bloody cheek! I was praying she'd get told to sod off by Tim but no.

Corrie's infested with rude, screeching gorgons now. I don't remember getting as riled by the likes of Annie Walker, Ena Shaples, Elsie Tanner and Ivy Tilsley, to name a few.

Now they were what I'd call feisty characters, but they could also portray warmth and humour.

The current crop of Fishwife, Eileen, MissHell et al have no redeeming qualities at all IMO.

What bugs me about Eileen is that she acts like she's the only resident on the street who has faced hardships in life and therefore can act as though everyone (literally) owes her a living.

Strictly speaking, her 'arch-enemy' Gail, who she regards as a snob, has had it tougher than Eileen when it comes to parents abandoning her and men letting her down - Not to mention, ungrateful offspring. At least Jason and Todd call Eileen 'Mum'.

The situation with Eileen is just typical of Corrie though. Apparently you can just walk out of your work, act rude to bosses, then stroll back in and demand a pay rise and they will oblige. Apparently the boss being male means he is a complete pushover and moron and will comply.

If Corrie had some imagination Eileen wouldn't have been allowed back, but it was so obvious she would just get her job back just shortly after quitting. They are so predictable.

Please please please Phelan don't let me down, I want to see Eileen thoroughly humiliated, heartbroken, penniless, the laughing stock of the street etc etc etc.. If you grant my wishes you will be my hero forever!

What am I thinking! This is Corrie, the storyline is bound to go the opposite way of what I'd like it to. It usually does.

Not really fair to single out Corrie for criticism here - Emmerdale are the same with Charity and Cain.

The business with Steve's hereditary disease seems a bit odd - How come Jim has left it so long to mention this to anyone? Also, seeing as Steve is Amy's father then how come he hasn't mentioned it to Michelle before, or Tracy or Leanne for that matter?

On a more trivial note - No one goes into a bistro before it's even open to buy coffee because if you did, you'd make yourself look a bit gormless.
Do they not have a kettle at wherever it is that Nurse woman works?

Did Jim know about it himself until recently??

Not a fan of the s/l at all but I guess if Jim has just started showing symptoms & has only just been diagnosed then that could explain it!!

Myotonic dystrophy doesn't always show symptoms till later in life so it is very possible that Jim has only just found out himself. Even though I would expect Steve to tell Michelle, Tracy and Leanne about the possibility that he has a genetic condition I can understand Steve wanting to take some time to get used to the idea himself before mentioning it to others, and he did tell Michelle reasonably quickly. There's no need to particularly rush the testing at this stage. Steve isn't yet showing any symptoms himself, Amy isn't either and there's still a while till either of his unborn children will be born. I'm not saying that he should leave it too long but he certainly has time to think about the decision.
