Out of interest, what kind of remotes do you use for your customers? What price range?
I have a
Harmony One which I recently brought back in to use after a few years stuck in a drawer. It had the blown battery issue which made it almost impossible to extract but I managed it with pliers.
It's fine, as far as it goes. It meets the majority of my needs, but has its limitations. The principal one being the small size of the touch screen forces some of the frequently used functions to be on second or third pages. It would be great not to have to switch out of activities to a specific device to do some of these too. Just 6 buttons or only 3 activities can be shown.
The default layout also often fails to provide the most used buttons on the first screen, but at least you can re-arrange the buttons. And sometimes a function isn't even listed as an option, but at least you can use the original remote and have it "learn" the function.
One bizarre thing - on a couple of occasions, seemingly at random, it managed to switch off my touch dimmer controlled lights when changing activities!
