As one of the main characters & best actors on the show, I hope he stays around for a long time. I agree, Kathy can go back six foot under.

Do we still believe the absolute trash the Mirror writes about soaps, including the fake spoilers?

I can see her point...she doesn't want her son to risk his own life to save Phil's. It doesn't mean she wants Phil to die just that she wants Ben to live.

I'm no fan of Ben, but I'm sick to the back teeth of Kathy the lying bitch trying to desperately force her way back into his life. What she done was completely inexcusable and she should count her lucky stars that Ben even speaks to her.
If I was Ben I wouldn't even be able to look at her never mind keep letting her spout off trying to tell me what to do

It's a completely OTT spin on a natural angle for Kathy in this story.
Kathy not wanting Ben to go through with risky major surgery does not mean she wants Phil to die or that she is responsible should he die. Let's not forget why Phil is in this mess in the first place. And no don't bring Gavin up. Phil's been abusing his body of his own free will on and off for years. People have tried to help him. He could've stopped drinking when he first found out he had Cirrhosis, getting on to the transplant list as soon as possible, but he didn't. That would have been a wake up call for many. The reality is that many people do die whilst awaiting an organ transplant. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a family member who can or is willing to help - if indeed they have any family at all. And in this case it's not even a last resort. Any decent person would have taken their grim odds as a wake up call, got sober, and at least been on the list looking for a cadaveric donor before even contemplating putting their son through this. To be fair Phil has had reservations over this but it still doesn't sit right that he carried on drinking despite knowing he could die (suggesting he doesn't see his family as worth living for) and that he isn't even on the list for transplant yet. This is without getting into Phil's emotional and physical abuse of Ben over a period of years which imo is worse than Kathy's enforced absence. Of course I still understand Ben wanting to help, he's definitely the bigger person. But I'm not sure that Phil deserves to have it handed on a plate to him when he's shown no commitment to facing this and getting better for his family before now. It's just another case of Phil landing on his feet again at the last minute. |

It's just another case of Phil landing on his feet again at the last minute. There is no tension at all in this storyline (or in fact any when he is involved) because we all know that Superthug TM will be very soon be back on his feet - easily beating up the next villain to enter the square whilst hung upside down, blindfolded and with one hand tied behind his back. Yawn. |

No soap producer with an ounce of sense would want their best actors character killed off, and essentially Steve McFadden is the best actor EastEnders has ever had all the rest are just wooden puppets compared to him.
