Why is the French man in the middle East?

Oh, crumbs. I do think you need to watch it all again 😬 but ...

Babtiste is in Iraq to find Daniel Reed, son of Henry Reed (deceased) because he believes they may have useful info related to Alice/Sophie

Army girl is in the military police and involved in investigating case of returned Alice.. Has been asurrogate mother for her sister, cared for her ill Dad and had an affair with Sam

We don't know. That is pretty much why there are scores of pages of discussion about it

Thank you.

Are you able to answer my questions then?

The actor has Down's so I assumed it was the writers' intention that the character has it too.

Statistically children are far more likely to be abducted by someone known to them than by a stranger, and family ties/loyalties are a strong theme the writers like to play with.

And Gettrick's abduction of Lena, "a friend of the family", suggests a modus operandi of targeting children who already know him. Strongly likely that Alice would have known him too, with the closely knit army community in Eckhausen.”

The three girls were probably abducted for a reason not just by chance and maybe the link is what happened in Iraq. We know that Sophie's Father had a good job but now works in a DIY store and that his wife committed suicide. Did Mme Giroux find out something about her husband that just pushed her into killing herself when she was already depressed because of her missing daughter. Why did Baptiste suspect that M Giroux was involved in the crime? There must have been something niggling away to make him doubtful about the man.

I think all of that is meant to show that she didn't go willingly. Not sure I've gleaned anything else, but I can't tear myself away from this series!”

I agree

I think fridgesoup has answered them better than I could.

Regarding the time zones, luckily, most of the characters have distinguishing factors that identify which zone we are in. I've tried to learn the hairstyles so I know where I am

Gemma: shorter hair in present day
Mathew: hair shaved at the side in present day
Baptiste: This is an easy one
etc

I didn't notice that he did.. He could be a missing link in this?

Question:

When Missing 1 was shown I was pretty certain that we knew before it's end that there would be a Missing 2, though the details of whether any of the story or cast would follow on was never made clear.
Does anyone know now whether there is the intention of. Missing 3, Missing 4 etc with or without Tchéky Karyo?

In one of the interviews with the writers and posted here(from Den of Geek, I think) they said they'd love to but they don't have a story yet and don't want to do another 'just because' or wtte.

They embargoed the announcement until the end of the credits on episode 8. When introducing the episode, the announcer said "make sure you keep watching after the credits have stopped rolling".

I'm hoping and praying the decision's already been made for a Missing 3, but is being kept secret again.

If I put in spoiler information - am I able to read it? Does that make sense? It looked as though it wasn't in spoiler quotes once I had posted

Click the grey 'S' in the top right of the reply box and type between the 2 sets of brackets. When you're typing you'll see the contents, but when you post it, you shouldn't any more. Use 'preview post' if you want to have a look at how it will appear in the thread.

Thanks! I'll try that - don't want to upset anyone!

This is not a programme you can half watch while doing something else. I have found you can miss things even when paying close attention. Lots of clues and ideas on here. Enjoy.

Re-watching episode 3. About 19 minutes in, Brig Stone is looking at a photo, looks to be a military troop in the desert. Has anyone else looked closely at that picture? I can't identify any of the characters, but there's a black man in the back row that I would presume to be Henry Reed. The rest are all men except for one woman. My money's on that being Nadia. Comments?
