These channels have different regional variations that are not yet available in HD due to bandwidth restrictions and costs.

It's more important to ITV and Channel 4 that they get advertising revenue from local ads than it is that you get HD.

The BBC is similarly going to be concerned about local news and other content that you would not get otherwise.

BBC2 has only a handful of variants (England, Wales, NI and Scotland), so it does not cost the BBC as much to produce HD versions for them.

I've just re-checked the tv guide, I see what you mean about BBC 1 HD, but for ITV HD at 6pm tonight it says ITV Tyne Tees in HD, so surely that should be on 103?

Edit: I guess with time the HD versions will be at the correct numbers

Just found this which explains a lot more https://www.tvchannellists.com/Maste...UK_and_Ireland)

ITV has some regional variants in HD, but they do not cover the whole of the country. There are also some ITV regions that are actually split into several smaller sub-regions. This means that ITV HD might show regional news that covers the larger region, but not the sub-region that you live in.

That is why we do not have ITV Anglia West in HD yet
