I'd love to see Mark back. I think he would aid both Martin and Sharon's characters. Plus another Fowler and a legacy character to boot is no bad thing.

Courtney had the makings of a great character but without Grant I'm not sure how well she would fit in. I only think her potential can be unleashed if her father is around. So while I would welcome her back I don't think at this moment in time she would work and I would hate to see her wasted like Vicky was.

I didn't really like the storyline around Mark. The actor was okay but the whole thing felt pretty unnecessary. Not that fussed about having him back. Courtney is welcome, though.

I found the storylines involving them to be unbelievably tedious. Courtney was played a really good actress so it would be nice to see her back.

Yes, they were fresh. The younger cast is quite boring atm, so they could liven things up.

Courtney was great, the Mark actor was a little smug but now they've introduced them they might as well bring them in full time.

Without grant around I just don't see the point in these two. They had lives before, what on earth would bring them to live in Walford?

Mark was a complete disaster and needs to be scrapped, rewritten and recast. Courtney was great though.

There's enough Mitchells on the show as it is without Courtney joining them. I would find it a bit contrived if she returned without Grant and moved in with Phil, Sharon and Ben etc given that she's barely had anything to do with any of them her entire life.

Mark Jnr on the other hand has a bit more a reason to return to Walford. Its been established he's spent the last few years living in London while at uni so its plausible he'd want to return if he has friends etc in the area. With his immediate family in America he'd need a place to stay and it seems he has a close bond with Sharon and Martin who visited him and Michelle in America frequently. He also got on well with Ian, Jane and Kathy during his stay. Him returning for another visit would be realistic. Maybe he could return with the intention of getting to know Grant not realising Grant has left and then decides to stick around. He'd have the Beales, the Fowlers and the Mitchells to interact with all of whom he's related to.

I didn't think that was established at all, I thought they'd said he'd been at a British school in the States, which supposedly caused him to have a British accent. That nonsense spoiled the character IMO as it reinforced the notion that the producers couldn't / wouldn't find an actor who was either American or could do an American accent.

Personally I think that's for the best though, as an American accent amongst a lot of cockney ones would stick out like a sore thumb (pretty sure the same happened with Vicki). It'd have been a nice touch to have him be American (accent wise), but I honestly think there'd be complaints.

Thats the whole point. That he would stick out. That the Mitchells wouldn't know how to deal with an educated American boy. That Grant would find it difficult to relate to an American boy as his son.

That's where you get interesting scenes.

Why would people complain about an American having an American accent?
