EastEnders Christmas 2016
What do you think might be this years main storylines?
There are theories Lee might kill himself and there were reports Ronnie and Roxy will die on New Years Day |

I'm pretty sure there was a news article a couple of days ago saying there was some big stuff coming up for the Carter's this Christmas, and I'm pretty sure it said Johnny had a big storyline?

I agree that it could be Lee's suicide and Ronnie and Roxy's exit at NYE. Maybe a big showdown between the Beales and Brannings as Max's revenge takes its toll?

I think Lee will be gone before Christmas. Could be away in the next few weeks. NYD will probably be about Ronnie/Roxy exit and I think Christmas could be Max's return. I wonder who will be writing this years ep?

Something to do with Lady Di. Hopefully the start of her prominence. Unless this has all been a lie from the start.

Max's return
Phil's transplant Denise gives birth They are the obvious ones to play out at some stage either on the run up to Christmas, or over the Christmas period. Then there's Lee's exit (missing? suicide?), Ronnie and Roxy's exit. Looking at that, I hope they have something a bit lighter to counter it. Maybe Billy and Honey getting married? |

Surely Kellie must have started her maternity leave by now so would they kill Lee off without his mum being part of the storyline?

Lee cannot commit suicide. I would never buy that. The depression storyline was a load of crap, they can't suddenly turn around and kill of a guy who suffered for the most part of 5 minutes. I'd like to see them leave the door open for him. Maybe send him back to the army if he can't get a job. Or leave with Linda, wherever she goes.

Apparently Kellie is still filming. Danny Boy is supposed to be as well but I'm starting to think he has already filmed his last scenes.
The other option for their exits is that Linda takes Lee somewhere to try and get him better and returns without him when he decides he's happier where he is. |

I can't believe Kellie is still filming, she's huge! I know Ted said she is but I think the actors might be leading us up the garden path at this point.

I think Lee will be leaving in the next couple of weeks and a suicide storyline seems quite plausible to be honest. I have a feeling that Whitney will die for some reason... Maybe Whitney dies and Lee fails to cope with the deaths of their baby and then Whitney so he takes his own life?

Jamie Borthwick has said in a Radio Times interview that we should expect a a bit of a shock this Christmas it's a mixture of low key and happy!

Hope it's light hearted with drama like Christmas 2003,2005,2006 where everyone came outside and had a snowball fight.

I've got a feeling, I don't know why, that Christmas might be a bit romantic - e.g. a couple will be formed. I think Christmas will be happier this year, so maybe that's why? I also think SOC will use Christmas to start stories rather than for big reveals
I don't think that Phil being Denise's baby's father will be revealed at Christmas, but we will probably have Max's return playing out sometime around then. Being on the gap year, I'm gonna be back for Christmas, but the more mysterious version of EastEnders has left me more excited than any of DTC's Christmases (even if the first episode I watched was the Carters' arrival) |

I think Christmas will be happy and low key, and New Year will be more dramatic with Ronnie and Roxy's exits
