Didn't know where to put this post , so sorry if wrong place

But does anyone have sky news app on there iPhone or iPad and sky sports football centre app and sky sports app

If so are you getting a sound on any notifications , say when there is breaking news , usually u get a sound and drop down box at same time , on all of them

But the sound seems to have stopped

Just wondering if anyone else got same issues

I used to have windows and it worked, but on android it didn't.
From memory you had to be registered ie a subscriber.

I use both apps on my iPhone & iPad. I often have the sound muted constantly which is handy for work but thinking about it, it has been a long time since I've heard the Sky Sports app jingle. I'll turn my sound on and listen out for it.

Edit: Have you looked in notification settings to check sound hasn't somehow been turned off?

Sky News is on Freeview, so I don't understand why you should have to currently have a Sky subscription package just to access content on the Sky News mobile app.

Sorry, I was referring to the SS Centre app, not the news one. Never had that .

Sky did charge non subscribers temporarily for its news app. There was a lot of fuss when the charges were introduced and eventually they were dropped.

Although I do get a sound notification on Sky News App( iOS10) iPhone 6S the sound seems to have changed. Infact a few of my sound notification sounds seem to have changed since the update. The BBC news app now makes the appropriate sound although it didn't for a while after update. Have been through all the settings.

Yes, I've been getting the Sky News sound but not the Sky Sports sound. Sound is turned on in notifications.

There are quite a few problems with notification sounds on iOS10. Google it; you'll find plenty of complaints.

On my iPhone 6, BBC News alerts reverted to the Tri-tone sound, Facebook Messenger and Pushover wouldn't make a sound whatever I did. A hard reboot fixed the BBC sounds, but the other two are still silent.

I uninstalled the Sky News Android app when they took the widget away and never put it back on. Why developers do these "updates" that take away something like that god knows.

My husband has my old iPhone 4s and he could not get the SKY Sport app to work anymore. It said to update it. I tried to do this for him but it still would not work. In the end I deleted it and tried again, this time it said something about not suitable for his operating system but he could revert to the old app which would work. Tried that but nothing. Now I have installed the Talk Sport app for him and he loves it.

If its an iPhone 4S then it needs to be updated to iOS 9.3.5, but if its an iPhone 4 (not S) then it only runs iOS 7.1 which is too old for many of the new apps and functionality. The AppStore will give you the oldest compatible version of the app if you only have iOS 7.
