Same.

Plan to watch the Swedish version at some point, being Swedish and living in Sweden and all that!

Being Swedish and living in Sweden I'm surprised you don't know that it's Danish.

I recently watched the first two on Netflix. I'd seen the second and third series on BBC4 but never the first. To be honest it did drag a bit, as did the US one, but still good. Also recently (re)watched The Bridge 1 and 2 on Netflix, which is better.

I have watch series one and two of the original, which I though to be very good. Does anyone know if series three is available on any subscription service (Netfix or Amazon)?

The U.S. version is FAR inferior to the original Nordic version

Agreed. Not even on the same planet. To be fair the story, acting and production are not that bad but it is hard to match real quality.

Doh for some reason I read The Killing and thought of The Bridge, which of course is a Swedish/Danish production, brain fart!

Every series is brilliant, the original is better than the US version but then I am biased because I love foreign language films and especially Nordic stuff. The Bridge is also brilliant. If you haven't seen the original The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy put that on your list too. Borgen is brilliant if you are into political thrillers. If you saw Captain Philips, the Danish film Hijacking is much better. French series Spiral and Les Revenants (The Returned) are also great. Headhunters from the Jo Nesbo novel is great and The Hunt with Mads Miklesson (Hannibal) is one that should be on the list.
