agreed, I think this has gone in the majority of the UK, only small areas as mentioned still working. Three has to pay EE for this fallback so will be turning it off in areas they believe they have invested in.

When I had a 3 Sim it fell back for a while and then stopped and then started again for another while. I think this was maybe 12 months ago in Devon. Certainly wasn't consistent. In the end I went dual SIM and had a VOD sim for voice calls and that is still superior to EE / 3 down here for pure voice calls outside. Not on quality, just coverage. 800 should change that hopefully soon and VO2 are still pretty awful for 3/4G down here although they are doing something at long last.

You could have maybe have had the old sim cut so that it would fit the new phone. My mum had to have a sim card cut when she got a new phone.

You should have been able to get a PAC code for your T-Mobile phone number, which would allow you to transfer that number over to EE for you to use. You still might be able to do, if you still want to use your old number.

This website here give you information on how to do that - http://www.paccodes.co.uk/networks/tm

I'm sorry but that is just wrong.

EE is the sucessor to both T-Mobile and Orange in the UK, and hence its very easy to move from T-mobile either contract or PAYG to EE. Yes, you need a new SIM card but you don't need a new number!!

(I know as I did this in 2013 myself !).
