As, like you, a dancer, I do agree with you wholeheartedly. But I feel the whole show is
produced by non dancers
for non dancers and us dancers have to take what little from it we can. We are, regrettably, the minority.
However - and I'm going to play devil's advocate here - if the show was virtually all about "real" dance, with only dancers on the Friday panel, etc., etc., all going on and on only about real technique, etc., how long before the average viewer would begin to get bored and switch off?
Also, again as a dancer, while enjoying the occasional "proper" dance, I have to admit some of the most ludicrous are also enjoyable Ed Balls last week - a samba that most certainly wasn't, but did I find it entertaining? Absolutely!!!!
