The most unintentionally hilarious/cringeworthy lines in soap
Which lines in soap have left you in tears of laughter when they were meant to leave you in tears of agony? Which lines have been funny and not dramatic? Who has made your sides split instead of having you on the edge of your seat?
Share your thoughts in the poll and comments Additional suggestions always welcome, vote 'Other'. Thanks to various unnamed FMs for helping compile the list.

Carl King in Emmerdale's 40th Anniversary live episode - during an altercation with Cameron when Cameron threatened to kill him he shouted "I'm indestructable!" then Cameron bashed him over the head with a brick and killed him. It reminded me of the "I'm king of the world!" scene in Titantic and I burst out laughing!

The 'get Den Watts' line never had 'he'll know what to do ' after it. DS members added it on and over the years people just believe it happened!

She had just landed in Walford after fleeing her non wedding and had no clothes. Max for some reason, I can't remember why, ended up giving her a dress of Tanya's to wear, Jack returned to the house and assumed Sharon was having it off with Max so called her a scrubber and it went on from there.

Peter Barlow declaring he and Tina had just done "Something Beautiful." was cringeworthy as was Kevin wanting to jump Molly's bones.
Unintentionally hilarious was Kevin forgetting that his first son died. |

As well as "slappin dahn", I'd also throw in the sequel. "What are you gonna do to me? Mr JOHNSON???"
Tracey Barlow's is the absolute stinkiest of lines though. I don't believe that will ever be worsened.

Gail's immortal line "You're Norman Bates with a briefcase" to Richard Hillman stands out for me as a classic.
