That's why they are usually marked so critically. The judges want to see fluidity of movement between these "poses"... and it seems to be the transition from one movement through another, without pausing, which so many find so difficult to achieve. The judges seem to complain that it's these "pauses" which stop it flowing as it is supposed to.

The first one in the pink dress was breathtakingly beautiful . It sizzled and oozed chemistry too
The only rumba I have ever really liked

The dance probably shows up a couple who does not have chemistry.

Yes I liked the Kara and Artem Rumba but it helped that there were almost a couple during that dance. Georgia/Giovanni was like that a bit as well.

I agree, I was left a little underwhelmed by Daisy tonight. Watching Kara and her Rumba puts it very much into perspective.

Whilst I think it's true that Kara and Artem's Rumba portrayed the growing affection and intimacy between them, it also showed that Kara was becoming an exceptional dancer.

There's really no hiding place in a Rumba at all... and she was just elegance and charisma personified.

It really was a beautiful dance and in the words of Craig... "I LOVED it!"

I'm sorry but compared to Kara, Daisy looked like a ploughman's wife walking through a field in her husband's wellies!

Yes, it's achieving that continuous sinuous motion through the moves and between them that the celebs seem to struggle with. Each time they stop to get into the next position, it breaks the mood.

Yep. Watched SCD with mum tonight, and her verdict was that it was "right stechie".

Sometimes mum's [got] the word!

That's what it was to her too obviously, however, that's not how it's supposed to be. Plus she did a weird ungainly squat.

I thought it was lovely. Rumbas are tough. A lot of pressure on the celeb to be sexy without being salacious. Especially the woman. I thought it was a very classy performance. The problem for me was the song.

I thought combined with 'Careless Whisper' the whole thing was tedium...

I love Daisy, I do. She seems far the nicest of the female contestants but I wasn't keen on that rumba.

Rachel and Vincent's rumba for me. Slow, smooth and very sexy.

She did very well with a particularly tricky dance. The rumba IS a lot of posing and walking. The transitions are notoriously hard. Most celebrity ones look absolutely terrible. The fact she did a decent enough job of it shows her quality. If she can do a good job in the rumba, she's got a good shot at anything.

Yep. Much better than Kara and Artem's for me personally. Rachel's is the only one I've ever rewatched and I never even voted for her.

I think nerves got the better of Daisy on the live show. The footage of her in training looked really good and I was really looking forward to this dance, but she just didn't do it justice on the night.

I like Daisy and she looks pretty healthy for a model, not a stick insect, however, I don't rate her as a dancer. She walks and poses beautifully in her dances.

I can't comment on rumbas. I always have to look away during them.

Perhaps to you it doesn't, which is fair enough. However, current culture recognises modelling as a legitimate career. As for being a celebrity, she's a famous face. For me, Ed Balls isn't a celebrity - not because I don't know who he is but because I don't think being well known for being a politician is quite in the same category as sports and entertainment. He was helping to run the country rather than entertaining people. Subtle difference but quite an important one to me.

Hang on. I didn't say - or even suggest - that modelling isn't a legitimate career. It doesn't, however, require the person doing it to actually do anything other than wear clothes. It doesn't require talent, skill or years of study or dedicated training. All that is required is an acceptable face and body for whatever it is that is being modelled.

In this day and age, more or less anyone who just wants to get their face in the tabloids as often as possible describes themselves as "a model". On that basis, it often ends up being a by-word for "doesn't really do much". I accept that maybe does not apply to Daisy but she is still not what I would call a "celebrity". I felt the same way about Abbey Clancy, who appeared to be better known as Peter Crouch's wife, than anything else. In terms of being a "famous face"... well I had never heard of Daisy or seen her before the line-up this series was announced, so it's questionable just how famous she or her face are. The same goes for a number of this years contestants - not just her.

For myself, I regards celebrity status as being someone who is prominent or influential, based upon their personal achievements or contribution to their own field or to society as a whole. At least most people in the country are aware of who Ed Balls is, and why he is a prominent person. Regardless of whether one agrees with his politics or not, he is a well-known and significant public figure.

I have nothing against the girl... she seems nice enough but she just seems a bit bland and uninteresting as a person. If you see what I mean...?

I felt the same. Had high hopes, but it didn't come out so well on the night.

Daisy's nice. Smiley and happy and I think there's a sweet relationship with Aljaž, but I do think she's been critiqued a little generously. (Others have, too, of course )

Apart from the fact that Careless Whisper sounds like someone passing wind in a library, the dance looked like Aljaz was trying to buff the floor with Daisy rather than rumba. Not remotely sexy.

I don't understand the rumba as a dance anyway, but Daisy's was particularly 'walk - pose - wiggle - repeat'. It certainly showed off her lovely figure, but I didn't see much of what I'd call dancing.
