I thought it was really poor, but after three subpar rumbas with three very able partners, maybe some of the blame should be levied at Aljaz? The choreography for his one with Abbey in particular was terrible.

Well, that's a possibility but for most of the celebs (male or female), rumba is notoriously difficult so I'm not sure that's the case.

Very few celebs have achieved really good marks for their rumbas.

I blame the music akshlly. Song tempo was a bit fast compared to the original. And Aljaz. Basically, anything but Daisy, my new Pixie. Love her lotts.

I re watched both, Anastasia's had more fluidity, technique and chemistry than daisy and Aljaz

I felt more from brendans choreography which was about Anastasia hitting lines which she dis beautifully! Yet daisy got all positives apart from Craig for a poorer dance

I didn't really like Aljaz's or Brendan's choreography (although if pushed I'd go for the latter). Daisy had the better technique though. But I was quite disappointed.

They made a bigger deal of it with Anastacia's but I thought it was more apparent in Daisy's tbh. Felt like one of those times the judges had made their minds up already and were commenting & marking based more on expectations than what they actually saw (I have to say, Daisy's Rumba did look better to me in the week's training clips).

I honestly can't think of any other pro who's had multiple good partners and never pulled off a rumba that I enjoyed, especially amongst the men.

Even if they told Anastasia that it needed more fluidity I thought she looked better dancing it than Daisy, she looked more sensual.

I think the CCC and Rumba came too early for Daisy. If she had got them in that sequence late in the Series, I think she would have been much better at them.

In the Rumba, she seemed to lack the confidence and drive that it needs. It was a bit apologetic. She can move well and can learn the technique, but she would have needed more time, training, to get there. She will benefit from getting fitter too.

I'm sad we missed seeing how good she could be at these two dances.

Well said!! Anastacia had more personality and believability in her dance than daisy!

I felt sorry for Daisy. The training clips showed her pulling some incredible shapes and I thought it was going to be really good.

Anastacia's wasn't as fluid as one would hope either but she put more emotion into it and therefore edged it for me.

I agree! My hopes were raised by the training clips. I think the potential is there and maybe Daisy didn't really do the training justice on the night.

Maybe if they get to the final, the Rumba can be the Judges' choice? I'd like to see if Daisy and the Rumba are as meant for each other as I expect.

I wasn't too impressed with it. Her rumba walks during training looked better... my main problem though was it had such a romantic setting, such a beautiful dress and dancing with Aljaz but... no chemistry. It was like she was afraid to look at him, or really at anything. I noticed during her cha cha too - her focus is shifting constantly so she's never looking intensely at anything. She has one facial expression when she dances latin which is quite dreamy and "cool" and not really evocative of emotion. As a model I'm sure she's able to emote more. She should pretend there are cameras dotted around the room (as in, photographic cameras - obviously there's a lot of tv cameras) and when she's looking away from aljaz... pretend she's looking at a camera like she's on a shoot. And when she's looking at Aljaz... really look at him like she feels something.

Rumba is my favourite dance... but I never feel like they look good on strictly come dancing. It has too much of a rep as "the raunchy dance."

You think models "emote"?

Most of the time they look completely vacant - particularly catwalk models. I understand that's deliberate.

Models who do magazine photo shoots only seem to have one facial expression too - the one where they gaze blankly into the mid distance with their mouth hanging slightly open.

or marrying a footballer, but it seemed to work for abbey clancy.

As for daisy, I thought her rumba was miles better than anatascia's tbh.

Indeed. I made that very point myself this morning on the preceding page.

I believe Abbey was also a model. She certainly was in some tv series about it. I'd put them on level pegging professionally.

kk

Yes, I had acknowledged that too - that she was a model.

Nothing wrong with being one, by the way... but I just don't really see it as something that attracts the celebrity label.

What will be next, I wonder?... Celebrity Fishmonger or Chiropractor?

It is not easy to attain the body control that Daisy had on Saturday (ask Darcey , or any ballet dancer or Pilates expert), must admit I was impressed, thought the dance was enchanting.

Daisy is really sweet and likeable too but I'm not influenced by that, they are all really nice this year.
