Looks like a 4K Planet Earth 2 demo is now available through iPlayer, just need to go in to the settings, other settings and activate the 4k trial! Also using HLG for HDR too!
Not sure why there are black bars at the top/bottom though, not enough for 21:9. bit odd.

Just watched it a few times on the Panasonic 65DX902 I have in the shop and the picture quality was fantastic, much better than 4K streams I've tested here from Netflix/Amazon. The content probably helped a little too.
Came through running on the 4K HLG demo no probs at all on the Fibre broadband we have (36ish mbps).
Certainly looks like a good route for the BBC to get 4K out to the public on without the issues of transmission space on Freeview.

The series on UHD Blu ray is up for pre-order on amazon.com. No release date is given. Price is $59, that's $10 more than the regular Blu ray. UHD Blu ray is not listed on amazon.co.uk, only regular Blu ray.

Based on the UK Blu ray being only £19, I suspect the US price will drop before it's released.
