Dan & Kerry are the best couple in ED and must not have a long-term rift in their relationship.

Nessa was better as an ageing student than a young mum.

Leela & Peri are the best mum & daughter in soap , even overtaking Sarah & Bethany.

Caz is mildly dishy when she smiles.

Stacey is an overrated character.
Same with Dot.
Kim isn't funny.

ED:
Robert & Aaron (refuse to call them by that stupid fan name) are not a good pairing.

HO:
Jade & Alfie are not cute and fluffy. Played by shit actors too. They're only praised because they got the cancer storyline.

Completely agree, on the subject of "Robron", I was on twitter the other week and I seen a few tweets from the Robron fan accounts.... some of them screenshot the negative comments on here and post it on twitter so they can all have a bitch fest over it. I found it quite amusing to be honest.

Corrie
I liked Ken's girlfriend Nessa I thought she was a lot of fun and loved that her presence wound up Tracy and Amy etc. Cannot stand Cathy though who is meant to be the 'nice' sister I think she is vile.

We're meant to view him as the baddie but I like Pierce and want Rhona to stay with him instead of going back to the awful Paddy.

Why am I not surprised

The funny thing is I like Robert as a character and have much less loathing for Aaron than I did but I simply can't abide them as loves young dream

Yeah I like Robert, I used to like Aaron aswell but since he has returned he just hasn't been the same IMO.

Emmerdale: I love the White's and especially Chrissie. I liked Holly Barton before she died. And Finn Barton is the best character in soap.

I find Linda Henry to be a very average actress to be honest. Nothing special really.

Corrie:
- As a male I think Maria, Michelle and Eva are all overrated looks wise and don't understand why they are pushed as Corrie's sexiest females.
- The Platt's are annoying and have ran their course
- Ken needs to be killed off
- Sally Webster has become a stale character - she needs another affair
- I didn't mind Rosie Webster last time round
- I thought Les Battersby was funny and is missed on the show

ED
- As a non tweenie and being over 30, I have no issue with "Robron" and think they add a lot to the show.
- David has become so annoying since he had cancer
- Ross isn't handsome - overrated
- I like Rishi's character
- I love the whole White family
- I like Lisa's character
- I didn't mind the Joanie and Zac affair

As an outsider looking in, I find the extremes of this debate hilarious. I am a former viewer, who returned in March/April this year, I last watched about 10 years ago when Robert was a straight kid, Zoe Tate was the only gay in the village and Aaron had not even been dreamt of. Taking all that into consideration, I don't have the attachment to characters or the outrage of past wrongdoings, so it is difficult for me to truly decide which side to come down on, what I will say is that the truth is probably somewhere in the middle ground. I liked Karl Davies as Robert, and I like the new Robert but lets be honest, he was employed as eye-candy and not for acting talent, although I do believe he is improving on that front. Aaron is okay when he's not blubbing in every second scene. Robert being gay? I don't know really, I just don't know if it really fits? But being able to watch, and read the comments here from a neutral point of view is very interesting, they certainly polarise opinion that's for sure.

I like Robert but can't stand Aaron in Emmerdale.

Ste is a far worse gay character in Hollyoaks than Sean Tully could ever be in Coronation Street.

Steven and Lauren are dreadful and unbelievable as a couple in EastEnders.

Soaps seem to sometimes write gay characters more for teenage girls than actual gay people at times. Hence the Stendan/Robron stuff we've had over the years.

Excellent post Aaron and I think the actors would be delighted to hear how polarising the characters are

I think Rita is well past her sell-by date and should be written out a.s.a.p

I think it would be refreshing for Sean to undergo an overnight character change ( and thus suffer the fate of so many other characters in the soap ) so that he is no longer portrayed as a 'pantomime gay'.

i like everyone in corrie except Phelan, Clayton, Macca, Caz and Amy. also not keen on Simon. and Tracy, but sometimes she's ok

also i find Maria proper boring

i think emmerdale is crap and no where near the best soap

I think Rhea Bailey (Caz in Corrie) is a decent actress.
