They actually branched out during the Get Weird album because of the Radio 2 and Heart crowd buying into that music. Previously it had been the younger R1 crowd. That's the one that goes to da club and is concerned about bangers and bops.

I'm still an Album Virgin and havent heard anything, but I read so many enthusiastic comments about Jesy its exciting.

I totally agree! I love her vocals in all of the songs we've heard so far.

Yup. The way lots of GW fans are feeling underwhelmed that's how I was this time last year when I heard the snippets for GW.

Glory Days is going to be my favourite LM album up there with Salute, if some fans don't like it that's up to them. Lots of us had to deal with GW, which I think was just a transitional album needed after being away so long. Glory Days is what they've all wanted to make in my opinion. Whereas GW felt like they were running out of ideas so just took the pop route.

Did they just confirm that Touch is the new single?

So excited for you to hear the song I co-wrote for @LittleMix. TOUCH IS OUT NOW.🍾

Big ups @MNEK @shungudzo @YOUTHONIX & Patrick #GloryDays

Just bought 'TOUCH'... Very J Bieber sort of music. Fresh and trendy. I like it, definitely single worthy.
Songs I bought so far are really pleasing to my ears.

Re NZ earthquake. I hope you guys and love ones are safe, sound and well.

The least well kept secret in the industry.

Sirius - I've liked the other songs so far, but this just left me totally underwhelmed. We'll see what Friday brings.”

Very nicely put.

I've listened to Touch several times now, attempting to get over my initial sense of boredom...
I'm afraid that, so far, this track leaves me uninspired - it seems generic in sound and tempo...

Imo it is nothing special - it's ok, but it will be one I skip.

However, I have liked the rest to this point....
(I think I'm in the same age bracket - )

EDIT:- Perhaps the supposed MV will change my mind ??

I'm talking in terms of streaming and trying to shift the guilty pleasure tag. They could get people on side who have disregarded them before.

I'm going to enjoy the heck out of this album that's all I know. The bops I've heard so far have me hooked.

So far the streaming has been for the song that people think is the most Pop. We'll have to see how succeeding singles fare.

Now just from reading comments here and everywhere. What concerns me, and was my suspicion all along, was the team is putting all their eggs in the Touch basket, and the mixed reaction its getting so far isnt giving me confidence that its going to be huge for them. I'm curious to see once its in wide release what the average listener thinks. I'd like to know that the label has a Plan B just in case.

Anything dance music seems to come across generic to a lot of people, funny because SOTME was considered generic by quite a few critics too. Generic streams/sells very well, and it's great at a crossing over in different markets. As many generic songs have shown. *cough* *cough louder*”

I wouldn't say dance music is generic at all, there are so many different types. But this ain't trance or techno or drum and bass, is it?

I would agree that 'Touch' is an attempt to get a dance record hit. And in doing so LM might have sacrificed some of their distinctiveness on this song.

The voices apart from Jesy sound processed and generic. This could be a 5H song very easily. But that might be its selling point to a US market.

Two things might have improved this..making Jesy lead singer throughout and bringing up the oil drum sound in the mix.

We get "Nobody Like You" today. I have to say, I'm not as excited as I was before I heard the snippet.

Edit: People who've heard it are mainly praising Jesy's vocals.

CV, there are some harmonies in the song

SLS remains my fave ballad.

Ok so touch - after a few listens I think it's EPIC. Absolutely loving the light reggae vibes from it. Oh boy I can't wait to see what the choreo will be like.

Jesy sounds INCREDIBLE. You can so tell LA is in her element just by the way she's singing and practically hearing Jade's voice through the chorus is incredible. She has the perfect sweet yet feisty tone needed for a killer chorus.

Jesy sounds absolutey fantastic and so does Leigh who sang a whole belting chorus with no growling.

But I think the song's good because of their vocals than the melody. It's still good, just not great. It seems after three albums packed with ballads we'll have a ballad drought, maybe even in the singles campaign.

It's definitely not groundbreaking, but it's a nice change for them. I'd also put it in the good but not great category

Little Mix's original version of 'Shout Out To My Ex' took aim at Gigi Hadid

Lol imagine that was the single version

I gotta say I'm really impressed with Jesy's vocal improvements so far. I don't know what Perrie is doing with her intentionally squeaky and scratchy vocals, but I'm not a fan of it. JMO. I hope she doesn't go the Christina route...

God, I want someone to leak that version. I'll help pay the potential legal fees

I'm glad they didnt. Making it that specific takes away the relatability and that is what's making it popular with the public.

Read the originating interview, its more informative.

Twitter was also full of people claiming Shout Out was musically very close to GRL’s Ugly Heart.

“I don’t get that at all,” Edwards says. “We love GRL, but really?”

Edwards: “They’re both quite chanty, but when you play them next to each other they sound nothing alike.”

“We had to make it clean,” Edwards says. “We didn’t want to have the parental advisory sticker on our albums and singles.

I thought I was the only one noticing Perrie's been yelping a lot recently.

It's irritating, she used to do it on "gotta get him out, gotta get him out", but that was a one off. Now it's on all damn time. Why do it when you have the best voice?

I like this part.

Edwards says Glory Days captures their growth, which has in turn created the ability to say no to more things.

“I don’t think we’ve changed, we’re still the same four nerdy-arse girls, but we’ve become a lot more clued up to the industry,” she says. “We went in blindfolded at the beginning, we didn’t know anything, but we’ve learnt on the job.

“We’ve experienced a lot and we’ve become very strong independent women. We don’t put up with s--- anymore like we used to. We used to put up with a lot. I don’t think that’s fair, one because we’re women and it’s easier for women to get scrutinised. We’ve learnt what we want to do, what we’re about, who we are. Little Mix is our brand. It’s what we’ve worked so hard on and we’re going to protect it.”

They also dont seem to be buying into Mel C's backtracking statement.

Jesy has the best voice, she is the most versatile and the most distinctive. Perrie has the stongest voice and probably the best range.

Of course the four of them generally complement each other really well, I guess that is the point of LM.

Possibly. It'll be interesting to see whether the performances do anything to change my mind about it tbh. I wasn't crazy about LMLY initially either, but their performances elevated it for me and I love it now.

I'm curious to what this album is going to be like. I've loved SOTME,FU and Nothing Else Matters. I wasn't keen on YGN at first, but it's grown on me. Touch is the only one that I haven't been impressed with.

Hurry up Friday!
