I really hope you're following A&A's reaction marathon of the whole GD album - it's really fun to see their comments - until now they are surprised by the unexpected - like Down & Dirty

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaoppWCww_M

You have to have the tunes yourselves as they are not allowed to play it - they have a countdown so you can start at the same time as them - enjoy - still 4 days left.

Why is it being said that a gg hasn't debuted this high since the Spice Girls if GA had big albums?
casualviewer

Speaking of videos, I hope they shoot Oops in the US with Charlie instead of doing that obvious separate filming and splicing it in awkwardness. I think his fans would be happy to give some crossover support if they're given a reason to.

OT: is Curtis now in a group himself? haha!

@cv I think they're just saying it's the biggest gg debut in the UK in 19 years (since Spiceworld)

Yeah thats why I was wondering why the GA albums werent big debuts too? I was curious since they had big albums. Seems like too long a gap.

May depend on how they're using the word "debut".

According to UKMix, The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness opened with 34,819 sales, but it was in August which is a slow period. I dont know how each album's singles compare.

Are Little Mix the only group on that list essentially created by a couple of women? All the rest seem to have been formed at the suggestion of men.

So amazing to see they will be at the top along with Spice Girls and DC! A lot of these albums were released when people actually used to buy music and the market was totally different. I mean I know they may just miss out on the 100k mark but im so happy for them. Simon must be thrilled at the success of all his acts lately.

GA must have sold more albums in the U.K. but worldwide LM have surely sold more records right?

Curtis is one of the nicest souls around, no wonder why he is so demanded in the business and the father of 4 beautiful children.
Did I say that he is also my music ministry team guitar player at church?
Big ups to him

Those sales are bad, no way to spin it. It shows Colombia / Syco really don't have a clue when it comes to Little Mix and non-UK markets. They need to spend some proper time in the USA several months before the album release. Of course, there is a risk involved as we've seen what happened to some other UK acts who focused too much on the USA and neglected their home market.

They have their work cut out for them over there next year. Seriously.

I think the global music Friday releases didn't help them in this instance. I remember years ago when albums would have different releases in different countries which gives time for the artist to release in their home country and other places where they are popular and release later in countries where they really need promo before they drop an album. Isn't that what happened to DNA and Salute?
