They have their work cut out for them over there next year. Seriously.

I think the global music Friday releases didn't help them in this instance. I remember years ago when albums would have different releases in different countries which gives time for the artist to release in their home country and other places where they are popular and release later in countries where they really need promo before they drop an album. Isn't that what happened to DNA and Salute?
It must be very frustrating for the girls. Somebody posted an interview with the head of Modest Management and when asked how he was going to break Little Mix in America his answer was with the Ariana tour slot. That was it. If that is his strategy, they don't have a chance as the album will be out of the charts by then. I wonder how long the girls are tied to Modest for before they can seek new management?

I've always said they need BIGGER and more equipped management that can deal with their affairs in the US.

Modest! is great for the local scene but they can't help them in the states.

What does this mean? On Radio 2's B list it says "Tracks from Glory Days".

I'm wondering why people think Columbia would be shocked by this - there was no push from the start with this album so why would they suddenly get bigger sales? Again with the unrealistic expectations. The plan is obviously to wait until next year when they can dedicate time to promoting while on the road (which they themselves have said they will doing, not just the DW tour). The fact they've managed to still keep a dedicated fanbase in America at all is great considering all the mess that has happened in the past. So it's not 'bad whichever way you look at it', they have no push behind their lead single and I doubt anyone prosper of their core fans even knows this album exists

SOTMX acoustic is their absolute worse... And it seems like they dropped the harmonies part and sing the song too safe, too pretty.
I have enjoyed each and every single one of their acc however I JUST can't get my head round this one.

As a matter of fact, on this album they mainly focussed on the solo parts, and many of their songs choruses are done unison.
Probably to make things easier when performing live, when getting into intense choreographies.

I really hope they don't forget that they are a 4 part harmony singing group who can dance and not a dancing group who can hold a note.

I feel LM are being held to a very high standard and any less is undeservedly criticised, you need to remember this albums release date has been done at a very fast pace so much so the girls are doing the best they can under a lot of pressure.

They really do need time to properly practice these acoustics but their label have been in such a rush to get GD released they have left the girls to wing their way through the best they can.

I don’t want to be rude, but anybody who thinks the album is suddenly going to sell off the Ariana tour slot is living in cloud cuckoo land. The album will be off the Billboard 200 in a few weeks. Get Weird had better first week sales and it only managed 2 weeks. Albums generally only re-enter the US charts if there is a re-release led by a big hit single. Perhaps they are planning a re-release, but they will need a really strong single for it to make any impact. If anybody has a recent example of an album that initially flopped but started to sell in significant numbers purely off the support slot on a tour and associated promotion, I am happy to read it.

I agree as do most here but Modest obviously think otherwise.

Neil Claxton.

Oh well. Little Mix sales have slowed, they're unlikely to get to 100k this week, will prob be 95k.

But still, impressive stuff.

I love "Your Love" -- There, I said it!

Especially Perrie's voice, which to these tired old ears, flows like honey on her parts...

I'm not taking anything away from the others, who all carry their parts brilliantly..

And I never said they were going to start doing massive numbers off the back of the tour either? The whole point of the supporting slot is to gradually strengthen their fanbase again so that maybe they will buy the next album. They have to gain back that goodwill before they start doing massive numbers, which is exactly what they are trying to do. Your obvious attempt at shade is pathetic and you do it constantly

1) This is discussion thread not a fan appreciation thread.

2) I'm an adult and so I don't need to "shade" anybody. I responded to another member posting the sales figures for Glory Days in the USA. If I have been negative about anyone, it is their management. Little Mix actually deserve better. I guess some fans interpret anything nowadays as "shade" and take anything slightly negative very personally. Personally, I'm not that invested in any music act.

3) Re: the underlined part. Check my post history. I have said positive things about Little Mix on several occasions. I just happen to be a realist who has no time for BS, even for acts I like. I'm sorry that I don't gush over every single thing the girls do and think they, their label and management should be put on some pedestal.

Anyway, to end this comment on a positive note, hopefully the tour will raise their profile and have a long-term effect.

Has this been added to the list? Sorry if I missed it before.

Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson are coming to Europa-Park for an exclusive fan event on December 4th 2016! For those who do not know the band, Little Mix were the first group ever to win the casting show The X Factor in 2011. After auditioning as solo artist, the four girls were put together by judge Simon Cowell. The girls’ shows teem with impressive harmonies and thrilling choreographies.

This ticket allows to visit Europa-Park from 11.00 am and the Globe Theatre from 05.00 pm.

Start 5.30

Nobody here has thought that or even brought it up except you? They will sell a nominal amount off the back of album signings if they do them. For Salute they got about 5,000 off of that effort during the Neon Lights tour.

I know its not an appreciation thread, and I have definitely posted my own criticisms of the girls and the actions of their label. I too am an adult, so your patronising comment won't stop me calling it like I see it. I simply countered your comment that these albums numbers should have been higher with some logic - there has been no push at all so why would they be doing any better? If that's me taking it personally then so be it, but as you said, its a discussion thread so I chose to discuss.

From the most recent times that I can remember you posting in this thread and other LM threads, you always seem to have a reason why what they have achieved is actually not that great. so don't come in here like you've been singing their praises. I am very realistic about what they achieve, and I don't place unrealistic expectations on them like some fans do. I'm not saying these albums numbers are incredible and they are at the top of their game and there's no way they can improve, but I also can see why things have turned out this way and they are respectable numbers considering their history in the US. I also don't think the DW tour is going to be a miracle worker and neither do they - in interviews, they've acknowledged that it will be hard work to gain new fans and this is a major platform to do so. I don't see how that translates to 'the album will start doing numbers when the tour comes around'? If you don't want a response to your constant negativity, go and post it somewhere else

Are they a 4 part harmony group? I don't know if the group have often described themselves that way. Is this not something you are projecting on to them?

Are they not a pop group who can deploy 4 part harmony on some of their music?
Not all songs need or benefit from 4 part harmony.. LM's music is much more diverse than that.

Little Mix should be challenging 5H in the states, but it looks like they will only have a cult following. If it was up to the management.

When they saw that SOTME had some hype and peaked well they should have sent the song to radio.

People have mentioned the Royal Variety show is filming Dec. 6, I wonder if they would do that again? Not sure which song would be appropriate though!

I really thought Columbia would have jumped on the opportunity that SOTME presented, but they were unprepared again. Considering it had next to no airplay, it did pretty well but I wish they would properly commit to more than one song a year. It obviously hasn't worked in the past so why keep repeating old mistakes
