I also don't quite get why K-Pop isn't described as Western because the music isn't Eastern but almost entirely based on Western music? So presumably it's just about geography?
'Western' Girl groups seem to struggle for continuing success but strictly speaking many do last a long time. Sugababes lasted 13 years, Sister Sledge have been going since 1971, TLC since 1991, En Vogue since 1989, All Saints off and on since 1993, The Saturdays since 2007, The Bangles since 1981 and they are all still going (with or without hiatuses).
This might be LM's golden era but they could be round for many years.”
I really wish LM longetivity and success as a group.
Although Sister Sledge still exist, the original line up which consisted of 4 sisters, is now Katy (the original lead singer) plus 2 of her nieces.
En Vogue, who used to be Tery/Cindy/Dawn and Maxine has been for the past 10 years Tery/Cindy and Rhonda. They reformed as the original 4 then split again Tery and Cindy suing Dawn and Maxine for using the En Vogue brand when touring separately.
Not sure TLC still do music, since Left Eye tragic death they went quiet..
I just pray LM won't fall in the dramas as they become women. Let's see.
I love them to bit, their music is food to my soul..
