guys seriously there's no point freaking out about itunes US for now
it's not being played on the radio and they're virtually unknown there, honestly 15 today is miles better than all of us expected Quote:
Haha the ad on the top right of this page is for SOTME on iTunes. |

anyone worried about this as well? I'd already suspected this will have a lot less longevity than their previous singles, it's so catchy that it gets tiring, especially with the chorus being so shouty
Abby Guttridge @Abboir_ 56m @chloeroseharvey I haven't been able to stop singing it for days now, my god. It's definitely going to get old really quickly though haha |

@headlineplanet:
We're under the impression it's being made available to US radio this week, official "impact date" to follow. They're scrambling. Maybe it's just to capitalize quickly on the social media hype, but I think this lends additional credence to the rumors about having something set up in the US for the next single. Otherwise they might wait after the busy holiday period, when LM could do a proper promo run with it. Let's keep in mind that this was probably unplanned if we see some promotional errors, or lack of promo, or if the track doesn't quite get over the top. It's a nice setup for 2017 regardless. |

I'm not expecting anything big to happen but it could be a nice background burn helping to soak LM into American consciousness in preparation for the DW tour. If it even does middling it will help move some tickets.
Probably what motivated the radio move was the streaming response in addition to strong sales. |

I still can't believe that 5 years and 4 albums in, they're set to have another huge #1 debut! I thought Black Magic was the last time that would happen but they really are smashing it.
I hope Jade is ok, didn't her granddad die during BM release as well? Sending love anyway

Poor Jade. I wonder if she's going to miss the One Show appearance today, couldn't blame her if she did.
Also- Another new Sugarscape video was just uploaded... Halloween related, judging by the title |

Midweeks via BJ
1 James Arthur - Say You Won't Let Go (60.5k) 2 Little Mix - Shout Out to My Ex (55.2k) * 3 The Chainsmokers feat. Halsey - Closer (39.5k) 4 The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk - Starboy (37.1k) 5 Hailee Steinfeld & Grey feat. Zedd - Starving (28.5k) I just realized I felt disappointed at their sales "falling" from 24k to 21k a day.

This is really something if they get a #1 in the highly competitive Q4. Previously they got them in the more benign Summer.

May we get an update on BJ's album predicta? Now they're thinking 100k for LM!
http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index...ic=194606&st=0 Elvis is coming back on Friday, and this time the Royal Philharmonic is touring with it. I hope its not a repeat of last year. |

Little Mix were trailing when I last checked, so the huge success of SOTME is definitely making people reconsider how much of a threat they are. I'm also thinking they may clinch it now. |

Plus, they were right about Touch. I don't think it had been spoken about beforehand so there must be some truth in it, surely? |

Am I right in thinking that streams dont fall as quickly like sales can? So even if the song's sales fall rapidly which is doubtful their current streaming will keep them high for a while.

I wouldn't rule it out just yet. It's not as though they're going to reveal an exclusion collaboration to Chart Show TV?

I'm kind of glad the Ariana collab isn't happening. I'd prefer collabs with someone with different strengths or a different demographic appeal. It's also a little weird to have a collaboration between headliner and opener, can't think of a time that's happened before.

Once you build streams, the top 5 or so are automatically added to all kinds of playlists which then give them even more streams by default and keep them high in the chart, which puts them on playlists and so on. Its one of the reasons for things like Closer being number one for ever in the US. |

Yes, it seems to me streams are a bit like a perpetual motion machine.

Its one of the reasons for things like Closer being number one for ever in the US. Fan wars like to throw the "local" tag around but the UK isnt Micronesia. More often than not the US follows cultural happenings out of the UK so I have high hopes for LM in the US. |

Yeah these days the streaming lists are pretty static especially the top 15-20. It's to the point that the industry is actively discussing what can be tweaked to better expose new artists (and support existing middle class artists.) Things like Release Radar and Discover Weekly are a great start but not enough to overcome the massive inertia.
The tough thing is that most of the time hits are hits for a reason and the services want to show people the best possible content. |
