His reaction to the MTV Touch Acoustic
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fsLccDteVA

I think one of you mentioned this before but he noted that Leigh has "the perfect tone of voice for a recording studio". He's very appreciative of the work LM puts into their performances.
Yes I mentioned that after watching his video actually. I was so glad he agrees because I think she has such a great tone for the studio too and he seems to really appreciate their work.

In regards to the top 100 tours of 2016. I expected to see LM there of course and also expected to not see a certain other act. I now have another piece of ammunition when people try and discredit LM. woo hoo!

I know that lots of fans think NMSS or Power should be a single but what if they decide to go with YGN or F.U instead? Both songs are doing well on Itunes and Spotify :-/

All those songs are good. But there is a retro feel to YGN and F.U., NMSS sounds more current and Power is more alternative. Which way do LM want to go? I would go with Power.

Does anyone who sings the bridge for Your love? Leigh Ann? Jade?
Sounds like Jade to me. Leigh Ann comes on towards the end (add lib part)
I listened to the bridge and resolve parts o'er and o'er again, my bet is..

Like whoah, if... Leigh Ann
Your love makes me feel like... Jade
Chorus add libs 'ooh whispers' ... Jesy
Your love, your love... Perrie
If you know you're in love... Leigh Ann

Order wise it makes sense.

Leigh Ann and Jade have a similar studio voice as we already establish and sometimes it can be a bit tricky to differentiate. I can only find out by the singing techniques.
Jade, has the capacity to use a powerful and strengthened head voice (falsetto) to attack a tricky high note whereas Leigh Ann will approach that same note with more punch and soul, often using her diaphragm as a support, without shouting..
And that 'Your love makes me feel like' has definitely Jade's technique on it.

I might be wrong, as the girls tend to blend with time, but I would love them to clarify this.

If they don't go for NMSS I hope it's Your Love. I love Power but I've heard it in the car the other day and... no.

I watched another IAMSYMPHONY reaction video - its more analysis, which I like - this time to the V Festival Salute performance.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=cmao_WJaYH0

He made yet another acute observation about this song but I find its part of their "sound" in general and possibly why I dont find Touch part of it. During this performance he notes that the girls have to emit many notes because there are many lyrics. Thats true, their songs tend to have more quantity of words than I think many Top 40 songs have. Its immediately distinctive. Even though at times I agree with that friend of the ATRL poster who said their songs were "too complicated" for the US taste, I dont think LM should abandon something that distinguishes them. Maybe they could modify it a little or just make sure the tune supports it by being very strong, as I feel Salute and SOTMX do with a powerful singalong chorus.

One thing I do like about a song like Touch is the notes are able to be sustained longer because of not having to cram in words and its pleasant to listen to. Heavy amounts of lyrics means the notes are shorter and more staccato.

The Mirror has a story on Leigh and Andre. This whole relationship is getting very messy. I wish she'd speak up about the homophobe claims even if they're 4 year old tweets, it doesn't bode well with their fans.

I don't get involved in their personnel lives as its nothing to do with me what they do or who they date, obviously I hope they make good choices for their happiness but its their lives after all.

What is she supposed to say? They weren't together when he said it, and he's apologised and was punished for it when it came out months ago. I don't particularly have an opinion on the guy (because it's none of my business who they date) but I don't see what she needs to address - it's not like he ever denied that it happened

I can't help feel that NMSS would stand the greatest chance of US success, given its dance-house, Bieber vibe. Power may be a little too "out there",

You may well be right who really knows, whatever they put out it obviously needs plenty of airplay or whatever it is will never take off.

I think i read them saying they needed two weeks rehearsals, if they are intending to perform at least half from GW and before then surely its only the new stuff needs rehearsing. just a thought.

LM would be more likely to get critical success if they put out stuff that it is 'out there'.
But I understand the need to cement their commercial success first.
At some stage I want an 'experimental' LM album like the last one by The 1975.

The successful Pop acts all seem to follow the template of securing their finances first then getting either "serious" or "experimental" when they can literally afford to lose customers. Either the next or the album after barring a GH we'll probably see that happen.

The real trick is lasting long enough to secure the retirement from the scene.

53 54 LITTLE MIX Shout Out To My Ex 421 384 37 1.402

+20 spins

With the holiday pause behind us, recurrent removal will be resuming, this week.

"Heathens" and "Unsteady" are going recurrent. "Kids" will be pulled back up to #39 (and remain safe). Maty Noyes gets #40.

"Broccoli" and "That's My Girl" will be purged

Does that mean LM moves up 2 or 4?

I'm thinking they'll come back from holiday next week, spend a week in the UK, then head off to the US for impact. It shouldn't take too long to rehearse since they will be mostly doing songs they've already practiced.

I think they'll get more experimental over the next couple of albums but I hope they remain focused on finding at least some tracks that will work on radio for now.

I hope an informed poster comes along but I thing going Recurrent is like a glorious retirement. Its still popular and getting airplay after a long time out but in order to refresh the radio charts its separated as a Recurrent from the Current songs in play. What we see on Kworb are the Currents. SOTMX is a new song so its going to be with the other Currents.

Purged I'm not sure what the criteria for removal off Currents is.

Yeah, recurrent is glorious retirement - spend x number of weeks (20 iirc) in the top 40, but don't be in the top 10 anymore.

Purging happens when a track in the top 40 falls out of it with a negative bullet (change in spin count), though I think they will sometimes make common sense exceptions if e.g. a track hits 40 for the first time the day before and drops a place and a few spins because of a huge release or something.

I think SOTME will be pulled in to #50 from what you've said.
