The song isnt getting ANY plays other than the few "vote for which song" polls. I havent seen any formal announcement going to radio yet.
On the one hand we'd like to see more radio stations giving it a spin, on the other hand as Charlottesweb pointed out, this song has not plummeted out of iTunes and its streaming and video views are really strong with no promo other than gossip articles in the US. I say if it stays this way a few more days then Columbia will finally be convinced its not a flash in the pan.

I know objectively it's very unlikely it'll make it because of how different it is, but there are plenty of signs of a Top 40 at least which would be great ground for the second single.... (also it would be nice to send 2 singles for once)

Its not "that different" though. Its not the same old "urban hey we need a rapper on it" dirge thats flooding Top 40 right now. To my ears though its the kind of anthemic pop rock/folk sound that is real popular here. It reminds me of Fun.
Its catchy as hell and people all around the world seem to be digging it. Even better they can relate to it.

I want to see how Monday and Tues. streams go. I compared James Arthur's stream history and you can see how it dips on every Sunday, and global streams all dipped then too, so it may cause an unnatural low on that chart.

Late but I thought the Teen Awards performance was very good although they could have used a little more stage support. As usual their vocals on SOTME improved by leaps and bounds the second time out, and they seem to be suitably connected with/challenged by it.

As for me, I'm very happy LM have finally cast off these frilly ribbon shackles and have credibility in an ever expanding new demo. Not to worry mummy mix, this diss is a blessing in disguise.

The studio mix backing track of this song is very flat live at least off chorus. They should consider a live band to inject some energy for the girls to feed off. I noticed both Jade and LA chickened out of their high parts but better safe than sorry .
There's a lot of buzz around LM this era it's such a pleasure to watch.

Nah, the show crippled them pretty badly last weekend and they'll be lucky to last a few more weeks now. But they should have been exploiting that target audience from day 1 instead of coming out and trying to look like an sexy uptempo pop band, which they lack the power and physicality for anyway. A more demure band coming in and picking up a base of younguns as the senior group gets sexier and hits the mainstream is standard fare in countries that have lots of stable long-term groups like Korea.
If anyone cares I posted my thoughts on what they're doing and why it hasn't worked in their appreciation thread. (Warning, I'm back to talking about most of the nebulous stuff about chemistry and connection I've basically dropped in this thread because I don't think LM need to hear it anymore.)

Totally! Their most boring performances are when it's just the four of them (no dancers) singing, with the backing track. If there aren't any dancers, they should really consider doing an acoustic version or have a live band. Otherwise the performances are just lacking.
