More from Grainne?
Idk, something tells me she's gonna be a good candidate even though we've heard almost nothing from her yet. But in the shots that have been shown of her she's always looked very calm and composed. Also Frances and Samuel have only had cameo appearances. Looking forward to seeing more from these characters as the series progresses, especially Grainne.

Irishguy, as - I'm assuming - a fellow Irish person, does Dillon look really familiar to you as he does me? I feel like he's been on TV in Ireland before...

I'm cautiously optimistic about her too. As you say we haven't seem much from her so far, but she seems as if she may have potential. An Irish lady really needs to win to make up for Kristina being robbed all those years ago

I always thought Leah had British as opposed to Irish citizenship? Perhaps I'm wrong.

I think Grainne is going to be good; she hasn't really done much yet and seems to be drowned out in the noise but I think she will come through. I think she will be the one to watch - maybe like Roisin, she started off actually pretty badly and was very strong by the end

Apparently he made an appearance on that awful 'Fade Street' show a few years back

I wonder what business plan she has though. If she has a business about makeups...hmmm.

And the last one went because of just that. |

agreed. if they were bad candidates, then the show would have been edited to portray them as such. certainly not the case.

Don't think you can really compare. Natalie was shown more in the edit and where she was shown the edit made her look dumb and stupid, obviously deadwood. I'm guessing they edited out a lot of the Samuel/Grainne input to focus more on the "joke" candidates like Jessica and Karchik, but the few bits of Samuel/Grainne we've seen they've seemed fairly competent and certainly not stupid. I am pretty confident these two will make it quite far in the competition but time will tell

And if they were good candidates that too would most certainly have been the case and shown as such.

Well time will tell i guess. But there certainly have been "good" candidates who have been edited in this way. Take Leah the winner from 2013, we saw barely anything of her in the earlier episodes but as the series progressed we began to see more and more of her and we saw her as a real contender - hence why she went on to win.

Grainne really came into her own tonight; she was by far and away the best performer on the losing team, and even seemed to do better than most (if not all) of the people on the winning team. Maybe a bit early to call her the front-runner, as there've been many candidates who did really well one week and then fell flat on their face the following week, but she's definitely one to watch now.

What I liked most about her tonight was her very roundabout way of saying that Oliver was shit

I love how she was effectively the secret PM of tonight, taking over ordering duties in the kitchen, and even basically treating Oliver like a puppy in the boardroom by ever so politely saying "he tried his best" when what she really meant "nah he was pants"

i thought that she was great! am I the only one who was getting "Team Mum" vibes?? kind of like Katie from 2014.
she's definitely one to watch; as long as her business plan is solid, she could make it to the final five. |

Yep, after this episode i'm definitely even more confident about my initial instinct that Grainne would be one to watch - she did really well in taking over as pseudo PM of her team. Looking forward to seeing more of her in future episodes but certainly don't think she'll be going anywhere soon.

Indeed she was probably the best in the losing team. Quiet control. Good to watch.

I had the same initial feeling about Grainne and am glad that that seems to have been confirmed last night.
As others have said, time will tell but so far, has shown she has a nice mix of being an effective leader who gets stuck in in a calm, cool and measured way. |
