Very very funny. Aisling totally poured into the mentally challenged Lovejoy, who as always thought people were laughing with him, but we were all joyful at his expense as his very limited intellect was derided time after time. I bet he is still none the wiser that he was (rightly) being shown up as a supercilious buffoon.

I thought Ian McShane was excellent as Lovejoy.

She is one of my favourite stars around at the moment. Always thought she was brilliant as a guest on various panel shows (notably Cats does Countdown) so she'll do well as the new captain on 8 out of 10 Cats, but she's also putting in a superb performance in The Fall and seen her crop up in a couple of other acting roles too.

Really do hate the Sunday Brunch format though - can't we have a weekend show with celebrity guests which doesn't involve them being interviewed when somebody is cooking!

She lives in LA mostly now she says so how that'll help with a topical UK based quiz remains to be seen.

All the guests get interviewed away from the kitchen.

He he! She gave him daggers as her introduced her as "err comedian and err ... actress". Most interviewers at least make a rudimentary attempt to part read the book/listen to a music track/read the synopsis of a play - delete as applicable - of the guest in front of them. Not Timmy. He's almost proud of his ignorance. The Fall is excellent as is Ms Bea in it. What a wasted opportunity to interview a cast member. Reminded me of when he half attempted to interview Mary Portas and she stopped speaking mid sentence to ask if he was bothering to listen to her!

I wonder how someone with Lovejoy's clear limitations carries on getting work?

She was awesome, the stumbling idiot had no real questions for her, and it's fair enough that he hadn't watched The Fall, but to expect her to give him a rundown of the entire three series of a complex plot was a bit much.

I did expect them to talk up 8 out of 10 cats, it being a C4 show, but lovejoy seemed unaware of that and even seemed to bat that away as irrelevant when she mentioned it.

PS. Whichever casting director decided to put Aisling in a nurses' outfit deserves a medal. But I do wonder if she's going to survive the series.

Tim Lovejoy is fairly harmless, surely there are far more deserving victims of Aisling Bea and her childish banter.

Tim Lovejoy always gives the impression of someone who's shown up at the TV studios on work experience. He's been presenting for years, but you'd never know it - he reads the intros and questions awkwardly, and shows little interest in the guests and doesn't seem to listen to their answers. Simon Rimmer's better at presenting and interviewing than him, and he's the chef. I'm glad someone put Lovejoy in his place, he's so amateurish.

I dare say there are, but this is about her on Sunday Brunch and the way Tim was failing desperately to interview her properly - probably because he couldn't steer the topic back to himself as he often does, and a total lack of any spontaneity and chatter, just looking at his cue card because he clearly had no idea who she was or what she does and he wasn't interested in finding out either.

I must admit that although I enjoy Sunday Brunch and sometimes even defend Tim, he did make a twit of himself with that whole " I don't get it" nonsense about the The fall. I've never seen the show but if I was about to meet ( never mind interview on live tv) someone who was in it I think I make a bit of an effort

So he's no David Frost or Jeremy Paxman. But if this performer really needed to cross mental swords with anyone could she not find a better victim?

I don't think she set out to cross swords with anyone, he brought it upon himself totally and purely, it's just the way it went.

And no, she could not find anyone better as she was sat in front of Lovejoy at the time, held captive by the need to try to sell her wares.

I am sure a better person would have asked her better questions and got a better interview out of her.

Not sure I get the logic of that.

You seem to be saying Aisling should've thought, 'Mmm, this guy interviewing me right now is being really unprofessional and pretty much dismissing the show I'm part of just because he hasn't done some basic research. I know, I won't pull him up on it. I'll just take it out on someone else completely uninvolved in the exchange."

*slaps forehead*

Oh I'm so sorry. I, of course, should've directed my mental sword at another poster.

If he ever became a Radio 5 Live presenter he would be totally f***ed.

He would have so much revising to do for every show - I doubt that he would be capable of it.

Love joy is certainly the least competent presenter on mainstream TV and deserves anything he gets. Asking weak questions and showing no interest in the answers are just two of his fundamental deficiencies for the job. Irritating twonk.

Perfect, quality logic.

I didn't see Sunday's show and I'm sorry I missed Timbo getting a verbal slapping. He is an appalling 'presenter'.

You should try reading his book, it's a work on a par with the likes of Ulysses or 1984. It's self indulgent Bollox from a completely narcissistic talentless tw@. He has also changed his football supporting allegiance to Chelsea as he was a Watford fan prior to that. A person I know who was in the fans stand during his Soccer AM days said to him in the after show bar "Didn't you used to be a Watford Fan ? " Lovejoy just turned and said to him "Why don't you just f*** off you c*** ?"

Makes me reach for the remote whenever his smug fizzog stains the plasma screen.

Is this to imply that Ulysses and 1984 are self indulgent 'bollox' (interesting because Orwell wrote the word that way) from narcissistic talentless tw@s?

Maybe the syntax is funny or something, I don't know.

I also only entered this thread because I was expecting news about Ian McShane.

The fact he hasn't f**ked Aisling Bea by now is a disappointment for me (especially as she now too lives in LA) and leads me to reflect upon my own potential future, as a proper man. He must be getting on a bit

Whenever that book gets mentioned a link to the famous review is required.

The funniest thing of all is that I bet the supercilious twonk had no clue that he had been made to look like an imbecile.

Maybe the twonk's humiliation last week hit home as this week the successor to Aisling Bea was . . . Stacey Solomon. No doubt the producers took the view that they really needed someone a little less challenging for Lovejoy given his tiny brain and very limited attention span.

One thing he still doesn't appear to have worked out though is that taking a bite to eat of something just before he is about to 'say goodbye' every week is really very stupid indeed, as we are faced with the horrible sight of him trying to swallow something whilst he is uttering his last inanity . . . A task he struggles with . . . Every week for around 600 weeks . . .d1ck.
