And he still tells the same jokes he was telling on Soccer AM TWENTY YEARS ago.

She's a human being of decent intelligence. Which puts her several steps higher on the evolutionary ladder than Lovejoy.

She's an Irish actress, comic and rather intelligent human with plenty to say on acting, comedy, politics and general funny ins and outs of life. She's also presently on The Fall (tv crime drama on BBC, with Gillian Anderson and Jaimie Dornan). In her own life, she's now over in America putting herself out there and seeing where it goes.

The Sunday Brunch guys (from what I've seen, not an avid watcher of the show) always have this appearance of trying to 'wing it' with their stumbling through the show and interviews. My housemates says it's part of their charm.

Simon Rimmer tries hard so the interviewees are normally patient with him, even though he has to resort to a question which usually begins "so what's it like to . . ." that needs no research.

Lovejoy is an unmitigated c()ck. People do lots of research for him which he doesn't bother to read. He asks inane questions, doesn't listen to the answer and talks over the guest. So they quickly become irritated with him. Quite rightly. When asked, 87% of guests on Sunday Bruch said they would like to slap Lovejoy round the face (the other 13% would like to do something much more painful ).

Based on this thread she sounds awful. Not sure why you would "rip someone apart" on a cookery show.

Maybe the producers have a list with Aisling Bea near the top and Stacey Solomon near the bottom rated according to how badly they will humiliate twonk Lovejoy when he is being especially pathetic.

Love Aisling Bea. She's so beautiful that I don't pay due attention to her performances!

You would do yourself a massive favour in finding out.

She's a witty intelligent and beautiful Irish comedian and actor. She's been playing a nurse in The Fall, she's a panel show regular and indeed will be a team captain on the revamp of 8 out of 10 cats coming soon.

Based on this thread she sounds awful. Not sure why you would "rip someone apart" on a cookery show.
Ahhh, a poor choice of wording by the OP, it sounds like she went for him and she really didn't, she just ran circles around him and his incompetent ignorant interviewing style.

Lovejoy isn't a good interviewer but he isn't that bad either. You speak as if your opinion is fact. Please don't.

And he still wasn't as good as Russ Williams or Gary Stevens on that show.

Neither did I until a few weeks ago. Apparently she appears on comedy panel shows, but I just know her as the second best actress called Aisling in The Fall.

The guy is completely dim in my opinion. I thought I was the only one who didn't like him!

The other presenter is marginally better. He's a wannabe Scouser, but at least he's talented in other ways. His restaurants are decent.

Lovejoy is a tosser. If there were any justice in the world, he'd have sunk without a trace after Soccer AM, but no such luck unfortunately.

If this is the way she behaves on a lunchtime cookery show then I don't think I want to know any more about her.

bea is an example of looks trumping a stunningly mediocre talent [ she makes shappi khorsandi look like jerry seinfeld ] , 5 mins on the comedy circiut and she's already got the UK equity card and a part in a major tv series.

meh, good luck to her.

Anybody who unravels the profundity of Lovejoy's imbecility has done a service to humankind.

Surely commissioning editors will take note soon?

If Lovejoy (and Rimmer) stopped laughing at their own jokes this show would run 90 minutes instead of 180.
