With luck Aisling will prime her comedy buddies to rip him apart in a similar fashion each time they are on, until the twonk finally realizes his own inadequacies and bursts into tears on air.

Don't hold your breath - people have been pointing out his inadequacies for more than a decade.

Aisling also on latest episode of League of their own on Sky 1. Sadly she didn't get a chance to destroy Corden, who came up with a remarkably inventive way of getting her into a wet t-shirt.

Interesting idea that she would play along with your fantasy like that. Not really plausible though since most of the people interviewed on Sunday Brunch, including her, are there to promote themselves, not to destroy Lovejoy. Yes he does some awful interviews, but he copes well enough most of the time. His schtick is "blokey banter", sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It's a live show and things do go wrong sometimes. But if he was the car crash you say he is, he wouldn't still be doing the show after all this time.

Damn I thought this was going to be some crazy rant about Ian McShane. I'm bummed it's only about the guy from sunday tv. Who cares about him?

Sarah Hadland did a decent job today of continuing the Aisling effect, treating Lovejoy like the moronic ill-prepared idiot that he is - including saying "I keep forgetting we are on TV" (which means "you mean YOU are really on TV?" and treating his question about her new programme "What is it, a comedy?" with the total contempt it deserved. Read your ****ing research Lovejoy, you prize twonk.

Is there an imbecile of the year award category for Lovejoy?

Right. 'Best food show' that doesn't have GBBO as a nomination? Really?

You may have a point that its not that bad but I don't think TV Choice awards is helping your argument. TV Choice Awards other winners:

Best Comedy - Birds of a Feather
Best Daytime Show - This Morning
Best Factual show - Paul O'Grady's For the Love of dogs

I admit to missing the Aisling Bea incident on Sunday Brunch, but agree Tim Lovejoy is terrible. As well as seemingly unprepared for every interview he does, he always seems to be chronically disinterested in the person he's talking to.

I'm guessing the reason he's on that show is he probably owns or has some interest in the production company. Either that or Lovejoy and Rimmer own the format, because they did basically the same show for BBC 2 before it moved to Channel 4.

There is no "Aisling effect" except in your own fantasy world. The last sentence is unacceptable in a civilised discussion.

Ever since Aisling Bea ripped him apart and began the Aisling effect, Lovejoy must tremble when he reads the card telling us (and him, the lazy twonk) who is on the following week's show. He will be praying for Stacey Solomon, whilst we are all hoping for an intelligent comedian to pulverize him again.

I can't stand Lovejoy (i didnt mind him 15 years ago on Soccer AM) , i actually think Rimmer saves the program for me, but with the right mix of guests i actually enjoy a bit of Sunday Brunch , i tend to record it so i can FF through it if it isnt working or if Lovejoy is ruining it.

I watched it yesterday and i didnt feel Sarah Hadland ripped into Lovejoy at all , i actually think she enjoyed herself a lot, she made a joke about Lovejoy forgetting the name of the show when he said something like "welcome back to er Sunday er Brunch" , but it was light hearted.

I think sometimes the American guests get a bit confused with Lovejoys presenting as he is clearly inept with interviewing them , but i think most guests either know about Sunday Brunch or have been on before so i think they just go with it.

I agree with others about the fact he doesnt appear to be listening to the guests when he is interviewing them , its the hardest part of the show to watch , there are some answers that a proper host would pick up on and make the interview more interesting but Lovejoy just isnt listening or is just concentrating on the next question , so the interviews rarely work properly.

It would be better without him , but i doubt thats ever going to happen.

I would say that Lovejoy is more of a channel 5 presenter really. Pretty certain he will end up there once the Channel 4 commissioners have had enough of him.

I have only watched the first 20 minutes of today's show so far and already:

* The guests have been laughing at Lovejoy's incompetence so much, he had to resort to saying "stop laughing at me".

* Lovejoy burst into hysterical laughter three times at Vic and Bob's very unfunny 'Honey Nut Cornflakes 'joke' to the extent that he face went bright red. A five year old would be deeply embarrassed watching that - he has the sense of humour, as well as the intelligence, of a four year old

Martine McCutcheon talks movingly about the impact of ME and how it is such a misunderstood illness for about 60 seconds. Lovejoy's response: "mmm . . . Where were you when you got the call telling you you had got the Eastenders job?"

During the Professor Green interview, he does his Rocky I I I joke that he did most weeks on Soccer AM twenty years ago. It wasn't funny then, you sad out of date cretin.

I couldn't watch the Vic & Bob interview as they are both painfully unfunny, but I am sure Lovejoy did himself proud with that one too.

You supercilious fatuous twonk Lovejoy, do something else for a living that you have got an ounce of talent for, if there is anything.

Is there anyone less competent or more inane on television?

I wonder how someone with Lovejoy's clear limitations carries on getting work?
I've wondered that for years....

Used to watch this boring idiot and the boring cook for ages until I finally asked myself why I was putting myself through this dull as dishwater programme every sunday morning.

I stopped watching ages ago.

Also just remembered that ad he was in where he just appears beside a woman and says "parmigiano". I don't even remember what the ad was for. Possibly parmigiano?

The original Lovejoy would be far better hosting this show and I presume he must be 70.

This thread is really quite sinister. Why watch a programme just to hate the host?

I've never seen the show before, but I flicked channels and had it on for a while yesterday and I noticed that any conversation he starts with somebody starts out optimistic and chirpy enough, "I've heard you've got a book out" etc., but as it goes on it just disintegrates into nothing with the dialogue becoming disjointed, no rhythm or timing, and both Lovejoy and the interviewee looking more depressed than they did before he started the interview as the talking finally stops in awkward silence because no one knows what to say. Like they've just received some tragic news and have to suddenly stop.
