Karren lets herself down really badly on this programme.

Her contributions consist almost entirely of sour faced jibes in which she states the obvious in a very mocking tone, with nothing constructive or helpful to say.

You would have hoped that her many years of apparent business success would enable her to add some real value and allow her to be a little more positive and generous with her comments.

Something constructive and a smile every now and again would be a reasonable expectation.

In the jeans/advertising task, Karren was accurate in her observations and helped Jessica when she lost it (more than once). Sometimes Karren's remarks rely on 20/20 hindsight but not this series -- so far.

We've got to remember Karren is not supposed to be helpful -- the tasks are between the teams; it is not a contest between Karren and Claude. If the teams foul up, they have to be left to get on with it unless it is dangerous, illegal or immoral.

Brady is a nasty peice of work.

Can't wait for her next 'women in business' rant, where she conveniently forgets her background in the soft porn industry.

So the women left the jeans behind & clearly knew they had cocked up big time. Karren chips in: "So, let me get this straight, you are going to do a photoshoot for your jeans without the product?" Wow, what amazing insight; wow, how helpful and constructive. They knew they had messed up so it served no purpose other than a snidey poke at the candidates. Such pathetic behaviour, along with the customary sour face, should be beneath a Dame. She does this every week and it is deeply, deeply unimpressive.

Just have as you have conveniently forgot all the rest she has and still does.

Plus she was in business before the venture to the soft porn industry - and in any case what does that have to do with anything ?

This lot are crap - so why not say so ?

I don't usually mind her but when she said, in the boardroom, "hairdressing and cleaning, not skills Lord Sugar is looking for" it really made me cringe.

Climb out of his backside, FFS.

Another very good example - what value did she add by saying that? Pathetic and she should be ashamed of herself for not making a meaningful contribution.

Well, it gave Natalie a chance to respond, either to put a positive spin on hairdressing (since it would have been churlish to refuse and harm her team) or to list other things.

What background in soft porn? Sport newspapers?

Both Claude and Karren do come across as snarky most times, but their job is to report back to Lord Sugar about what was happening on the tasks. They don't have to be nice, and if it's a business opportunity Sugar is looking for, he would certainly want to know who the weakest candidates are. They have to be able to speak for themselves, stand on their own feet, take responsibility, and not crack under pressure, all qualities that many of them are lacking in. So yeah, she does seem a bit sour, but it's not her job to mentor them. They're supposed to be good at what they do already.

She still works for David Sullivan, doesn't she?
That makes her regular ranting about women in business hypocritical.

I haven't forgotten anything - conveniently or otherwise.
It's what I use to base my opinion of her on, and she doesn't fool me. As I said, I think she's a nasty piece of work.

How does working for a successful businessman like David Sullivan or working in the soft porn industry lose her business credibility or make her a hypocrite?

I rarely watch this. K Brady - I can't warm to at all. Not sure why. Possibly some prejudice on my part although I'm not sure what against. The other guy seems okay. The two older ones were better. The guy went on to Countdown. The best though was the older woman. She cut straight through a lot of their garbage (and wow do some of them spout some garbage about their abilities - ego and ability never seems to run on parallel lines). I have a vague memory of her retiring after one of the series but, as I say, I very rarely watch. She was the best though.

Nick I liked. He's the one who does Countdown now. The older woman I believe is Margaret. She's very much like Claude, no beating around the bush with them. The interviews are my favourite part of the series.

If the contestants cannot even handle the snarky comments by Karren or Claude I doubt they would be able to work with Lord Sugar.

I am surprised she was quite supportive to Jessica even though she was like a MESS in that Jeans task.

I have no idea of her background but so what, what's the big deal about it? 🤔

But what when they did nothing constructive - which they did not.

How ? - you have lost me.

And as for ( "Ranting ? ) about women in business" - she has very right to make a point because she has been there, done it, and got the T-shirt.

I was thinking of the interview process. Claude and Margaret have both been in that role. I've never seen Karren doing them, although I haven't watched the Apprentice since the beginning.

She did it every series that I watched until she got her current role when Margaret stood down.

Then Margaret took Karren's place in the interview process
