HT-K215 V's HTK475
Hi everyone, im about to purchase a home theatre kit and was going to buy a HTK-475 so that I could hook all my equpiment up to it and enjoy Dolby Digital and DTS sound for my DVD's. I've heard a lot of people mentioning the HT-K215 kit though and im assuming this is cheaper than my original intended purchase. I basically want to know whether its worth spending the extra money and going for the 475 kit or whether the 215 kit will do the same job with the same type of quality? Whats the difference between the two kits? I dont mind spending the extra money if the 475 is superior in performance.
Thanks for your help |

I have the HTK 215 and am extremely pleased with it. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to you. I think the 475 has more powerful speakers but if you go to the Sony website you should be able to suss out the differences. The speakers with the 215 are ample for us but it depends how much of a sound expert you are. We are just a normal family who enjoy the home cinema experience the 215 delivers. I have not listened to the 475 which is obviously a better system because of the price increase.
What attracted us to the 215 was its size, it is an extremely compact amp which fits perfectly in our tv cabinet. Our old amp (Sony) was a huge thing with scart connectors so we liked the neatest of these design. Someone of this site was saying Sony are bringing out new home cinema kits so you may see some price drops with a bit of luck. |
