Peter's book is out. Has anyone seen details of a book signing?

Meh. It'll probably be 25% childhood (understandable but the first quarter of most celeb autobiogs are dull childhood recollections), 25% slagging of his ex-wife, 25% bragging about his daughter shagging a telly star, and only 25% anything interesting or relevant.

Haven't seen anything about signings.
I'm about two thirds in and it is very interesting. He's a very engaging writer, very self deprecating and has lots of amusing anecdotes. He seems to have decided, probably correctly, that there is nothing new he can really say about his time in Who so he doesn't linger long on his time in the series so don't buy it if that's all what you want to hear about. However if you're interested in the TV & theatre industry of the 70's onwards as a whole then there's lots to interest here. Lots of surprises too like just what a mess he made of school, the lost decade of the 90's when he got less TV work and had financial trouble, the parts he could have played - he turned down an audition for The Brittas Empire for example which looking back feels like it could only have been written for Chris Barrie and he did a lot more theatre work than I realised. Definitely worth a read. |

At the risk of being told to "get over it" (!), after his inane ramblings about Brexit think I'll give this a miss!
the pound is already falling and this is before we have even left! he was bang on with what he said. |

TO BRING THIS BACK ON TRACK ...
![]() I do quite fancy the book, and getting a signed copy would encourage me! I am surprised nobody like Forbidden Planet has got him onboard for this. His theatre work is remarkable, Gslam2, but I am agog re The Brittas Empire! Maybe I might buy (gasp!) an unsigned version after all?! |

Was he up for the Gordon Brittas role then?
Intriguing. |

He didn't audition for it but the BBC enquired about his availability.

they weren't inane ramblings. vast swathes of stupid people voted to leave europe. even boris seemed shocked and regretful that people voted to leave.

Peter's an intelligent and funny man, as demonstrated in his recent DWM interview, and I'm looking forward to reading the book immensely. |
