The story could have been interesting, but has been let down by poor continuity, cliches and contrived scenarios. I don't blame the actors, apparently someone at Corrie thought this was great.

And I am sick of characters being wrongfully accused and almost everyone (apart from maybe one or two) thinking they are automatically guilty. Oh how refreshing it would be if the neighbours stuck by them through their plight than being antagonistic and accusing. It would make some decent continuity if they actually remembered that a lot of the characters (Fiz and Tyrone being two of them) have gone through something like this.

To be fair so far there's only been Kate, who's one of the crappest written characters on the show, Jenny who has an axe to grind with Maria from last year & Fiz who have not been backing Maria so far, though that may change when they find her blood stained scissors as they surely will!!

Oh and !!!!! ”

It will end when Ken learns to talk again and we can get back to cultured conversation and superior acting. I miss Ken and his meaty storylines.

This article first appeared a while ago when the scenes were filmed but makes far more sense now!!
Appearing in the new soap mags for end november & it seems
Spoiler
it is going to lead to Kate finally seeing sense & the pair of them trying to set some sort of trap for Caz!! Good luck with that guys, she's a slippery customer that one!!

This should've been a slow burner.

It's all rushed and as a result, everything seems implausible. While it's nice Maria and other characters are getting air time,

Far too rushed, they needed to give Caz some sort of second source of dodgy cash but by just relying on the one (now stopped) credit card they've had to rush it. The speed at which Maria has been arrested on circumstantial evidence is just bizarre.

Yet David has barely even been spoken to by the police about the car crash, despite his history, the damage caused and the impact on people like Anna. Witnesses saw him driving at speed and any investigation might reveal the amount of petrol on board. Apart from which, he'd taken the car from the garage before it was fixed up and therefore presumably it wasn't roadworthy and didn't yet have its MOT. Was he even insured or taxed? No-one seems bothered about any of this and I doubt that Kevin has yet seen any payment for the work done. Whose insurance has paid for the new windows in the salon and Rovers?

I would absolutely agree with you on that one but slow build ups don't seem to go down well on this forum, there's just as many saying it's been dragging on too long & another lot saying surely it can't go on much longer!!

I do sometimes feel sorry for producers as it seems that whatever they do is wrong sometimes!!
I do agree though there hasn't been enough time between Caz's 'disappearance' & the police deciding it's a cut & dried murder case & charging Maria without seemingly wondering or inquiring how she, a slim petite hairdresser with no training could overpower an army trained soldier far more robustly built than her, drag/carry her body down a flight of stairs, out into a residential street & take it & hide it where? without some sort of help!!

If DS Mc Kinnon was a bent copper secretly working with Caz to frame Maria then maybe she wouldn't bother to ask such awkward questions, but heaven help her if Aidan does manage to get Maria a decent solicitor or barrister If it was ever to go to court!!

All that said I'm still enjoying it, simply because I love to see Samia acting out big drama & crazy as the s/l is she's making her part in it seem real!!

The worst part is the actress playing the unconvincing copper is usually excellent! I saw her in 'In the Club' and she was wonderful, I'd have quite happily have seen her come in and have more of an actual role and doing real detective work. Right now she just seems to turn up, scowl, make a snide remark, accuse Maria and then drag her off to to the cop shop!!

I'm genuinely really happy to see more of the lovely Maria but I agree that it feels rushed and hastily delivered without any real thought, it's just all so panto!!

I'm probably in the minority here but I did think Samia was quite good at the end of Monday's night episode?

Thats because they drag it out too long. This is a great storyline idea, and if it had been at a more sensible pace, it could have been brilliant.

I know I want it to be over only because it's been done so poorly.

I think she was excellent in every scene on Monday night, but then I know I'm in the minority!!

I'm sure you're not. She was excellent. She is a very believable, sympathetic character.

Hey thanks for that!!

That is exactly what I love about her, that she can still make Maria believable whether it's a mundane 30s scene fiddling with someone's hair in the salon & bantering with Audrey & David or scenes of intense drama like monday night's!!

So happy she's getting her moments to shine again at last!!

Judging by next weeks preview pictures....

Spoiler
Aidan finds Caz at a local factory but she escapes. Then Kate finds the hidden cameras in Maria's flat (why is she at her flat?) and then tricks Caz to enter the flat by saying she still loves here.

Really hope this storyline ends next week but seeing how useless the police have been so far I won't hold my breath.

Never mind ending next week, I just wish SOMEBODY would make reference f some sort to what hapoened over a week ago now!!
In normal Corrie circumstances the whole Street would have been buzzing about the fact that the sweet natired hairdresser, who is a friend to the vast majority & who they have all known for 16 years, was suddenly in police custody facing a murder charge but, apart from a brief scene with Kirk, Aidan & Johnny the next episode nobody on the Street seems remotely bothered by Maria's plight, even her recent ex Luke!!
Sorry to keep going on about this but it's REALLY annoying me, far more than any other plotholes in the s/l so far!!
