Hi,
You went to a lot of trouble with the poll but unfortunately it doesn't cover my buying habits. I want teas with a certain taste, so that's the most important point (after the price), rather than who makes it. To illustrate what I mean, currently I have 4 different teas on the go; 2 bags and 2 leaf. The bags are Ahmad Ceylon and Twinings Bold Kenyan, and leaf are Tetley Orange Pekoe and Tesco Original. I've been pleasantly surprised by the Tesco Original that I tried for the first time only a couple of weeks ago and may buy more of, as it's good value for money. I might try their Finest Fair Trade leaf too and just hope the Assam is muted rather than dominant. I've entered Other in the poll, and I suppose that would have to be the Ahmad Ceylon, as I buy it by the carton and never run out, whereas the other teas come and go. |

I don't drink tea anymore, but I used to drink loads.
In my opinion Twinings is the best, but of the cheaper brand then Yorkshire Tea is probably the most flavoursome.

I chose other. I buy loose leaf tea direct from a tea shop. It carries their branding (Baskervilles in Palmers Green, for anyone interested).

For normal tea, I drink Yorkshire.
I also drink Tea Pigs peppermint tea. |

Tesco Extra Strong is head and shoulders above any other I've ever tried. Aldi's Gold Label comes second but Yorkshire Tea is also good and so is Punjana. I think all the other big brands are inferior.

Twinings is useless. You can leave the bag in for half an hour and it's still like piss water.

Sainsbury's Red Label Extra Strong tea bags are my absolute favourite, but I'm not fussy as long as it is a strong blend. I find Yorkshire and Twinings both a bit inspid.
Wouldn't touch Tetley as to me it has a weedy flavour, and there's something almost mouth drying about it. |

I like assam and ceylon. Can't tell the difference between the supermarket and branded bags of those varieties, so I go with the supermarket.

When it gets really cold, I make my own Chai Masala with the grinder and saucepan. I still have some from last year in a pot. It smells lovely

I do like Twinings though it can be a bit on the weak side so I put in two tea bags for a more satisfying brew.
![]() For everyday tea I go with Tetleys decaff which suits me anytime of the day. I can't be a**ed with normal tea as it gives me the gripes.

My wife, who doesn't drink alcohol, is a bit of a tea addict, every where you look in our kitchen there's tea!
Our standard everyday brew are bags of Twining's Breakfast, I like their Assam or Whittards Russian Caravan. If we're relaxing she'll have a pot of loose leaf Nilgiri and i'll have loose leaf Russian Caravan. |

I bought a caddy of Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe International Blend loose tea this week to add to my tea collection.
I see Twinings are discontinuing several of the International Blend teabags and are flogging them half price on their website. I was pissed off when they discontinued the Bold Kenyan teabags and this seems to happen whenever I find a tea of theirs I particularly like. Please stop doing this Twinings!! |
