Will told him to do a 12 hour round trip so they could watch the show together but he never showed up, again

I think it's tacky and and wrong to discuss an innocent member of the public on a forum like this .
None of us know that person's story and shouldn't be mocking them under the pretence of humour .
I doubt any of us would be pleased to think we were being poked fun at on a huge open forum .
But , as you were .

I know what you mean, and at first I too thought people would be picking on someone unfairly, but in fact none of the comments are unkind -they're commenting on nothing worse than that he looks bored- and the cumulative effect of reading them is turning him into something akin to a folk hero. He's actually just being used as a conduit to criticise the show rather than him.
And if you look at him- he's a good-looking young man. No harm done. (I'm so shallow...)

Oh don't drag this thread down into controversy like so many of the others this year. It has been very funny, nobody knows who he is,he hasn't been named, his picture hasn't been posted, lighten up!

Anyway, I think he was there as Anton's chest hair groomer for the pro dance

If so, he should have been on the credits...I now have visions of little chest wigs back stage playing happily together, and being cuddled by Claudia F.

Gosh, where did this newfound compassion and consideration for others suddenly come from?? Bit of a departure from your normal posting style, wouldn't you say?

And if you're going to develop this new style, find a better target - no one was mocking the guy at all, just a bit of gentle humour.

As OP, I'm glad you both understand I meant no harm to the individual whatsoever.

Hell, he could become even bigger than "Ken The Red Jumper Man" who has become a cult figure after asking Trump & Clinton a question at the 2nd Presedential Debate!

If you found out your appearance was being mocked on a massive forum you'd be mortified and humiliated . No point in claiming you wouldn't .
You can dress it up how you like , but the fact is that you are making fun of someone's demeanour when you know nothing of their circumstances illnesses or personal problems that might be making them look a less than happy bunny on that night .
His picture has been posted by the fact that careful instructions were given on where to look at him .
I'm very light and more than happy . Clearly you are all enjoying the thread and that's your prerogative . If I were mortally offended I'd report the thread on the grounds that it might have legal implications for DS allowing it to continue, but I'm happy to leave you to your 'fun' .

There's always a few who's mission in life is to "protect" someone who appeared on the TV. Is if that person gave two monkey's what they thought.

There was no harm in this thread. I bet half the comments were from people who hadn't noticed him or even bothered to find the person again on i>Player. So they wouldn't know him from Adam if they met him in the street.

They just took it as an opportunity to join in a bit of light-hearted humour.

Far worse stuff is posted by some about contributors to this board.

When I showed my husband this thread.he said 'I know exactly how the poor b*gger felt'. We,the rest of the family, commandeer the big downstairs telly on a Saturday evening and he can either watch or go watch another TV in the house.

Nah!
Like most of us fellas, he was just looking for a bit of sympathy.
We've an HD TV in both our reception rooms. So both my wife an I can choose what we watch together, or individually. You seem to have the same facilities, so why should he care?
