Am I the only one puzzled why people are assuming a comedy routine for Ed to Amarillo?

(I was not aware of Peter Kay's mime, all I knew of was Tony Christie's recording in the 70's)

IWALU is a poignant love song that Whitney made one of the best-selling songs of all time. I like Dolly Parton's rendition too which was a 70s country hit but Whitney's unique voice transformed the song and made it the juggernaut many people know today. Whitney Houston was a phenomenal vocalist and she put her own stamp on the song that was completely distinguishable from the original.


Lol perhaps but the Claudia Streza version is a karaoke imitation of Whitney's rendition. I'd never heard of Claudia Streza or her cover of the song but after hearing it they should have referenced Whitney as there really isn't any comparison to be made.

The video for this was made by Peter Kaye for Comic Relief. It is very funny, apart from the inclusion of Savile for a few seconds!

Liking the majority of the songs this week! Some great choices and none are truly making me cringe, though I don't know all of them.

I'm concerned for poor Rinder. Based on the ridiculous costuming ideas they've had in order to desperately cram him into the "Comedy Contestant" role with Ed, I wonder if they'll end up just dressing him as an actual bugle for his Jive, instead of the standard "army man" outfit.

They need another comedy character kept in the show, in case Ed gets voted out.

Rinder is sort of, "second lobster."

I like Danny's song as it quite stripped back so it will nice to see Danny do something different as we know he can do fast routines let's see if he can slow routines which I think he will able to do.

Also loving Laura's, Greg's, Claudia' s and Ore's songs.

YAWN! Why do we have to focus on Claudia and AJ being young EVERY F*CKING WEEK. I'm starting to sound like a broken record complaining about it.

Yes, finally something resembling proper tango music. I don't know what the producers are thinking of with some of their choices. It's very unfair to some of the contestants trying to get into a tango mood with some of the shocking songs they've been given.

Ed's song may not be great for an AS, but probably good for him in terms of staying in. It's a crowd pleasing, memorable song that they can do comedy stuff with. They've already pushed him so far down the comedy route that as soon as he gets an appropriate song to do a straight ballroom routine to, that's when his vote will drop off and he will be gone.

I'm annoyed as well, its VERY tedious now. I could understand doing it in Week 1 and the Bugsy Malone theme was great fun and suited them perfectly, but now its become utterly ridiculous!

Claudia is awesome btw, I want her or Ore to win, with or without naff theming!
