Frankly, Dolly Parton's own version of the song is light years better than Whitney Houston's rendition.
It's a poignant love song and Whitney ruined it by bellowing like a walrus in prolonged labour. ![]() Quote:
Think it worked pretty well as a samba in 2010 when Matt Baker & Aliona scored 38 with it at Blackpool (and then full marks on pretty much every tour date...)
![]() https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BDzzqqUlSvU And I really hate it when they repeat songs with the same dance - particularly when the previous version got high marks - as you're just going to compare... And that's one of the few sambas I've ever liked on Strictly Quote:
Lol perhaps but the Claudia Streza version is a karaoke imitation of Whitney's rendition. I'd never heard of Claudia Streza or her cover of the song but after hearing it they should have referenced Whitney as there really isn't any comparison to be made.

An American Smooth to Is This the Way to Amarillo? What on earth were TPTB on when they decided that?

Looking forward to Lesley and Anton's tango. He produces fantastic ballroom tango's and often gets authentic tango music, just as he has this time. I think Lesley will be able to do it justice.

YAWN! Why do we have to focus on Claudia and AJ being young EVERY F*CKING WEEK. I'm starting to sound like a broken record complaining about it.

I think you should give up on that until after Halloween week at least. It's practically unthinkable that she won't be be a Disney princess with her charming prince or a character from a kiddies film then.
It's time they started treating her like an adult, if not him. |

How is it wasted on Laura??. I can't remember who danced a jive for 'Reet Petite'?.
I must google. Found it. DVO and James in 2012, scored 35. Will be interesting, ![]() I love Ore's and Louise's songs too. Funny they always get good songs. |

I love Aj and Claudia song. ..still remember strictly 2013 blackpool opening dance to that song. They better do it justice.
Loved that Blackpool opening too, it just built and built and built!!! Really loved the pure joy on Mark Benton's face as he danced this! Oh go on, just for you (and me!!! )https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EvNJmkhpTI |

Am grumpy. Had Reet Petite on my bingo card for Claudia to dance too. Wasted on Laura, wasted
![]() Unfortunately I'll miss Ore's dance. I can only tolerate Dolly's version. |

Rob and Ed doomed for more comedy theming. I'd like to see both of them doing something relatively straight for once, just to see if either of them have improved.
