I do love Dolly's original version over Whitney's but Dolly's isn't the slow ballard-y tempoed version that Whitney's was, which was why I wondered why they were referencing a German (I think she is) singers cover of Whitney's cover!

And I really hate it when they repeat songs with the same dance - particularly when the previous version got high marks - as you're just going to compare... And that's one of the few sambas I've ever liked on Strictly”

I'd completely forgotten about that routine that's why!

Exactly, I can only assume it's because of Licensing reasons, i.e. it's cheaper to "cover" the Streza version.

An American Smooth to Is This the Way to Amarillo? What on earth were TPTB on when they decided that?

Totally agree with you, love Dolly's version which she infuses with all the pathos of the words. Whitney's belting just ruined it.

Looking forward to Lesley and Anton's tango. He produces fantastic ballroom tango's and often gets authentic tango music, just as he has this time. I think Lesley will be able to do it justice.

Why would they choose that? astonishingly bad.

The original version was in the Bodyguard too. It was so brilliant that few people noticed it. It's just an average 70s country track until Whitney's version transformed it.

I think you should give up on that until after Halloween week at least. It's practically unthinkable that she won't be be a Disney princess with her charming prince or a character from a kiddies film then.

I'm concerned that they might be portrayed as "trick or treat kids."

It's time they started treating her like an adult, if not him.

I must google.

Found it. DVO and James in 2012, scored 35. Will be interesting,

I love Ore's and Louise's songs too. Funny they always get good songs.”

John Barnes & Nicole Cutler danced to Reet Petite in series 5 (Jive).

The music for Ore's first two weeks was the pits - it picked up since Singin' in The Rain.

Loved that Blackpool opening too, it just built and built and built!!! Really loved the pure joy on Mark Benton's face as he danced this!

Oh, surely they'll get something age-themed rather than sizest. That seems to be her theme - "Young Hearts". Great tune, but good grief!

Unfortunately I'll miss Ore's dance. I can only tolerate Dolly's version.

Rob and Ed doomed for more comedy theming. I'd like to see both of them doing something relatively straight for once, just to see if either of them have improved.
