My Storage availability on my iPad is nil. Told to manage it in Settings. Settings provides details of storage including iCloud, the latter has a good deal available, but the general storage is at 0. I can get to a list of apps etc., but when tapping on any, the following info page has no obvious means of deleting anything, although I vaguely recall being able to do so a couple of years ago. I need to provide some availability to enable a BT Sports app to load. Suggestions most welcome, thank you...

Normally you just tap on the app listed and press 'Delete'. However, if that isn't working you can delete an app from the home screen by pressing the icon until it 'wobbles' then press the 'x' to delete.

Well, I can get the wobbly effect on the home screen, Stig, but where's the 'x' to press to delete ? Also, when I hold the touch on an icon, it and the whole screen of icons wobble.
One of the problems I've had prior to trying the above is that although I can bring up the list of apps, I can't show an option to 'delete '.
Is there a way to delete Facebook, btw ?
Appreciate your help,thank you.

The X should appear in the top left corner of the icon. However it might only appear on apps you have downloaded and installed yourself. It might not appear on pre-installed apps.

The whole screen full of icons wobbling is perfectly normal. It lets you move icons around on screen as well as delete them (if you see the X).

I'm sure plenty of people would love to delete Facebook (and I don't just mean the app! ) but unfortunately it appears you can't do this. I have both an iPhone and an Android phone and neither let me zap Facebook and Twitter into oblivion much as I would like to (never use them and can't see me ever wanting to).

Why can't you zap Facebook and Twitter, or were you joking?
Your post reminded me they were both sitting on my iPad never used. Both have been sent back to where they came from just the same as any other app.

what have you got on the iPad, apart from apps? Movies? They chew storage, especially in HD.
Also, have never met a 3rd party app (not Apple) that I couldn't 'wobble' then click x to get rid of.

I don't have the option to uninstall them. I can take them off the screen but both are still sitting taking up storage space on the phones. On the Android phone where most apps have an Uninstall button some, including Facebook have a Disable button that basically just stops it running.

settings/general/storage & icloud usage/manage storage...

Click an app and you should then have an option to delete it. (Page layout is app info, below that is "Documents & data" and below that is "Delete App" - a button with the text in red)

I'm with you now and I have to confess I hadn't noticed their reluctance to disappear before.
They are going to annoy me now.

Read all your responses, thanks for the interest. I can't explain it, but after my last previous post my storage availability suddenly appeared as around 40% of the capacity, whereas before it showed as 0. Dunno how I did it, but it's all oke again.
I'd heard that Facebook was not disposable- bit of a bummer...
