I will miss Brendan on Saturday, but it'll be good to see Gorka again.

I really don't understand all of the negativity towards Anastacia.
You are not alone.

Poor Brendan. He's slightly disturbed to find that he is no longer alive. https://twitter.com/brendancole/stat...73370260598784

I hope it's a good dance for Anastacia; in training they both look good so let's hope they have a good dance ... along with everyone else of course!

think this has just saved Anastacia from being in the bottom 2 again. with Gorka the corker.

Bloody hell though, I had a weird post-Movie week dream about Brendan being dead and sent for an autopsy before he came back to life (well, back to movement, not life. That thing was dead, I tell you) and he pursued me for the rest of the dream.

It's an horrific omen.

I don't want to be psychic. Take it from me!!

Well that will put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Hope it is not too serious & she is back next week.

I guess some people wouldn't mind being pursued by Brendan in a dream, even a dead version!

Does that mean she has to do a new dance next week or could she retain the jive ? Being as that was the one she really wanted to do.

I can't remember how it works...mind, the producers often don't seem to remember either ,so it may be whatever they dream up

Next week is Halloween so I doubt it - it won't be spooky enough!

I'm sure the Srictly Rule Book allows for either possibility

When Natalie Gumede pulled out of the show - also on the jive - she was given a bye but had to dance a new dance the following week. As I remember, she was taken ill on Saturday at the dress rehearsal and was back training on the Tuesday afternoon. In reality, that amounted to having Monday off! The discussion/slagging off on DS seemed to think that to perform the jive the following week would have given her an unfair advantage (with 2 weeks swanning around preparing the same dance )

Has Laura been training all week, or has this been brewing, I wonder? Perhaps she's had some rest days already. Anyway, hope that's the case, because otherwise she doesn't really have much recovery time in hand 😬

When Natalie missed a week - again on a Jive - she and Artem did another dance the following week. I think its because it would appear to be unfair that Laura - or whoever - would effectively have 2 weeks to learn one dance.

Front page headline on the Daily Star too. I saw it as I passed the newspapers in the supermarket. So stupid.

I think they probably chose Gorka over Neil because Anastacia & Gorka obviously get on really well. Choosing the pairings probably isn't easy, you probably often get pros/celebs wanting the same person. Could be Anastacia was best with Gorka but Anastacia & Brendan worked better than Tameka & Brendan. Which I can believe.

Me neither - I like her and the sass she brings to the show.

Anastacia & Gorka turned out to be my fave couple this week as she showed great improvement.

They seemedto work much better as a pairing...

I agree, she danced much better this week and I thought they looked good together.
Maybe it was just that this dance suited her though.

No Disrespect to Brendan, but I really preferred A&G as a pairing. Chemistry was great imo. Their personalities seemed to match through-ought the dance. But then, like the above post suggests, that's probably because it was the QS. Going to be interesting next week

Thanks to everyone who updated me re the rules following a bye.

So if Laura is back this week, then she starts with a new dance. Probably just as well, no way would she want to do the jive, even if her ankle is better.

I do hope she can make it for this Saturday.

Agree re the comments for Anastacia and Gorka. It is the first time I have thought that Anastacia really danced properly, as opposed to the moves she has done in previous weeks.

I wonder, if Brendan is not ok this week, and Gorka is her partner again, then what would happen the following week if Brendan was then ready to come back ? It would seem a bit unfair to make her switch round yet again.

I really liked the Gorka-Anastacia combination. When she dances with Brendan, I can see him placing her and keeping her on balance. If Gorka was doing it, then he's more subtle about it , but it felt like he trusted her more and she seemed to dance with more freedom. Of course, I may be doing Brenda a disservice, and she's simply grown in ability and confidence and Gorka was reaping the reward. It'll be interesting to see how next week goes.

Yes - Gio said this when he was announcing a live message to Laura on the show.
