I enjoy all of the main soaps when they have big storylines going on ( the average episodes tend to be a bit boring) but I had been looking forward to the heavily trailed ED big week this week, but I'm afraid the first 2 episodes have been very disappointing.

Laboured storylines ( Robert proposing to Aaron ( uncool and hence very out of character to me) followed by Marlon and Paddy in the woods ( not funny) ) and very predictable ( and similar) endings.Boring rather than gripping I'm afraid overall.

Can't help feeling that someone has tried and failed ( so far) to be too clever in putting this all together and drawing it out in the way that they have.

I think the best is yet to come. I am enjoying the way it's being structured narratively, and while I found last night's quite dull and overly comedic, I thought Mondays was a good episode. I don't know if Robert meant 'leathered' as physical or just a verbal attack, but I'm not treating it as too much of a smear on Jack.

The production values are so high though, the cinematography is stunning with the episodes having a beautiful visual feel. I'm loving the way it's edited and it's something different seeing scenes overlap from different perspectives. The scenes on the road at the end of the episode are tautly edited and shot with various other cars visible subtly, and I think it's overall been very smartly done.

I'm enjoying it, though last night's did lack the punch it could have had with all the stupid comedy scenes - but some people love the double act of Paddy and Marlon and it looks like tonight's episode will be gripping and Ashley's devastating - while the stunt I think will be spectacularly epic.

Well I didnt like the first episode as I hate Robert and Aaron together. Last nights was ok, I can tolerate Paddy and Marlon, plus than Knuckles bloke made me laugh. The episode tonight should be good, apparently its just insane.

I loved the Robron episode but last night was a hot mess. Hopefully the Death Trap Farm episode will be better

On the whole I have enjoyed it, I have only been watching again since March/April after about a 10 year break. I enjoyed the Monday episode and thought there was some good acting, the Tuesday episode was a bit harder to digest for me as I can't abide Pierce but again as I am neutral on so many characters on the whole have enjoyed it.

Really? I thought the Robron episode was just pure cringe, I enjoyed Lachlan winding Aaron up though.

Yes I loved it. I really like that we got to see bad boy Aaron again. It was good that they finally addressed Robert's sexuality and I thought it was hilarious that they had Lachlan locked in the trunk while they had a romantic moment at the side of the road.

The only bad thing was the retcon of Robert and Jack.

Yeah, to be honest I did like seeing that side of Aaron but it didn't last long and I went back to feeling indifferent towards him immediately. The retcon ruined it for me, it just seemed like a desperate attempt to make viewers sympathise with Robert after everything eh has done. It didnt need to happen, a lot of people love evil Rober, I know I do.

I agree with you on the retcon, you can't change characters history that the audience saw on screen. If they felt the need to address Robert's sexuality they could have said he fell for a guy after he left the village or something.

The bloke who plays Pierce was overacting his part in that ep.

I agree, there were parts where he was a bit OTT.
That said, I've really enjoyed the first two episodes.

Couldn't agree more, but I'm willing to put it down to an underwhelming week. Considering how long the consistency of quality has been there, I'll give it a pass. Despite it not being at its best, it's still a better watch than some of the others atm

I think it will be, even though I'm pretty certain that I already know who dies at the end of it.

The James /Emma thing is the only storyline I'm vaguely interested in at the moment. Fingers crossed

I think Gillian Kearney is an amazing actress so I think it'll be great. Don't wanna tempt fate though!
