Ken Barlow was called a 'bastard' in 1977

I'd much rather hear David swearing in the scene than a completely ridiculous, "I'll kill the toerag".

I think more disturbing than David saying 'Bastard' is the person in the first twitter comment on the article saying "`10 to Chuffin 8!"

I mean, seriously, who says chuffin?!

FFS, the early years of EastEnders, "bastard" was a word used a lot more often, with other offensive words,

It's been said a few times in Corrie ... IIRC even Rita once said it about Alan Bradley.

People who moan about 'swearing' REALLY need to get a life.

I agree with this. Tbh the watershed is completely redunant when it comes to curse words. You can't walk for long without hearing someone swear. You can't stop your kids hearing it in the Real world so what's the point. Tbh Swear words in general are used so casully that they might as well no be.

The watershed should have sex scenes and OTT violence and gore as their only banned before said time.

I can just imagine it now. Digitalspy asked Corrie for a statement and their spokesman replied "Who give a ****".

In all fairness I can't understand why people are up in arms about it? What was he meant to say "let me out so I can get jolly well cross with him"?

I've heard kids say a lot worse
