The 128Kbps stereo version of Kiss is leaving the Cornwall DAB multiplex. A message on the radio's text stream says:

"Kiss is moving. Continue to listen to Kiss on the D1 National multiplex. Retune your receiver before Monday 31 October."

- where it's broadcast at 80Kbps mono

They've been lucky where it's been on D1 for a while they've kept it there.
We lost it very soon after D1 launch. Hants mux looking very lonely now.

If it was replaced with Planet Rock it would make a few people happy.

Same message on Plymouth Multiplex too. Wonder what (if anything) will take its place?

It's back! But still with a message saying that you should re-tune before Monday 31 October.

How odd! You mean it's streaming audio? Bit rate the same?

As I recall UKRD are/were a shareholder in the NOW Cornwall mux (as they are for some of the MuxCo muxes) so with the removal of Kiss and Escape recently, perhaps Cornish listeners will soon be seeing (well, hearing) Encore Radio and/or a pirate3 (based on eagle3)...

Well I'll leave it to someone in-range to confirm whether or not it's still radiating, but certainly an application to remove it has gone before Ofcom, if you check the multiplex variations listing...

Just did a re-scan this morning, and ignoring the D1 and BBC multiplexes this is what's available...

Cornwall
BBC Cornwall
Heart Cornwall
KISS
MY MUSIC RADIO (112 kbps Joint Stereo)
NJoy Radio (64 kbps Mono)
Pirate FM

Devon
BBC Radio Devon
Capital UK
Gold
Heart Devon
Smooth SouthWest
The Voice (64 kbps Mono)

Unless stated, all are 128 kbps Joint Stereo.

I think that there are a couple of services duplicated on the Cornwall and Devon multiplexes, and that my receiver merges them together and displays the info for the strongest signal - which for me is Devon. When scanning, 6 services are found for Devon but 8 are found for Cornwall.

The Now Digital website (http://www.localdigitalradio.co.uk/) says that the following are on the Cornwall multiplex...

Pirate 2
Heart
Gold
Capital
BBC Radio Cornwall
My Music Radio
NJoy Radio Cornwall

So maybe the duplicates are Gold and Capital.
