Tracy Eastenders

Any reason why Tracy doesn't talk all the time in Eastenders?

She's and extra rather than a character,, they have to pay her more to speak.

I think it would be good if she was talking even if she was just always in the vic.

Tracey is a legend, two or three words a year, and still going strong.

It must pay alright if she's been there for the past couple of decades (assuming the actress doesn't work elsewhere).

I saw an article somewhere a couple of years ago that she was offered a meatier role at some point but turned it down because of family commitments to her child or am I confusing this with something else?

No you are right. It was Diederick Santer. I remember the interview in Inside Soap. He came up with the concept of doing an episode focused solely on Tracey's point of view where we would follow her around for the whole episode seeing what she sees but for what ever reason the actress turned the idea down. I think maybe she didn't want to be thrown into the sudden limelight whereas being in the background she can carry on her daily life as normal I suspect.

Tracey is a true legend on Eastenders.

If she ever felt like she wanted to leave, I would hope whoever the producer is then, woul possibly give her a contract for the last month or two, she was there, as she would deserve a proper exit.

Maybe we may see more of her, with Linda and Lee going, Mick will need staff in more,

She played a role in Kathy's return. She was central for that entire episode. She is speaking sloghtly more but still it would be nice for her to be more involved like that.

Occasionally she is given something to do but even then it's kept at a minimum. I remember someone tied her up in the Vic once.... they later returned and all Tracy got was a very brief scene where that person apologized... it wasn't enough.

It would be great if Tracy was involved in Babe's undoing. They have never had any screen time together but they could write it as if Tracy's been watching Babe all this time, and unlike the rest of the Carter's, she doesn't have blinkers on when it comes to Babe.

I remember a scene with the guys on the train. One of them admitted to sleeping with Tracey and a few others put their hands up. It was funny at the time.

The same thing happened at Max's stag, where Phil Ian and the extra in the Vic with the moustache all said they had a go on Tracey hehe

She had Dennis too when he was shagging everything that moved upon his arrival! I can't remember who it was but someone discovered a pair of knickers in the loos and Tracey pulled an embarrassed face before walking away
