Strange it does not have 5GHz WiFi. Although how much does that matter?

I've owned the Swift and I wouldn't buy another phone from them. I had numerous problems with the OS and apps crashing. When I first powered up the phone the Google Play store didn't work on it. The camera quality and battery life were mediocre. Boot up time was long. The charging port was recessed which meant chargers had connection problems. And god help you if you ever need to contact customer services.

Their new phone is not very good value compared to the Moto G4.

Never had a Play store issue and can't imagine what caused that. The camera was average on the Swift and I need to have a proper play with the Swift 2 Plus.

As for 5GHz Wi-Fi, or lack of, the chipset offers 802.11ac 5GHz according to the specs. Funnily enough, at the original Swift launch the Qualcomm slide said 5GHz then too. So it must be a cost saving exercise.

Many people will suffer congestion issues on 2.4, and much slower speeds (a factor if sharing a data connection over Wi-Fi or transferring data over a local network). It's not a massive problem but certainly disappointing as the cost saving must be very slight.

Here are some photos I took at home while restoring apps and data (the usual painless NFC tap against another phone to copy from).

I'm off to Germany in the morning so will try and take some photos there.
