Was he really that "nice" though? I was rooting for Emma, personally.

The way he stood so proud and cocksure and then pouted through his lines annoyed the hell out of me.

Poor bloke will only end up being smothered by Claudette or some other deranged woman.

Some men (e.g Keyser) wouldn't object to that

Same here. And the way he said his lines like he was projecting to the back of a theatre and opened his mouth wide before each line.

Was he like that as Charlie Stubbs too? I can't remember what his acting was like then just that he looked good.

Although I missed the episodes apart from Thursday's 2nd episodes, I wonder whether James followed in Charlie Stubbs' footsteps and said to Emma You haven't got the bottle to kill me

He shagged his brother's gf and was willing to cheat on Emma with Moira yet again. He was selfish.

No he was desprately unhappy. He was married to a monster. Who can blame him?

I can.

Being unhappy is not an excuse for cheating, nor is it an excuse to sleep with your brother's girlfriend and secretly father a kid with her.

He was a coward.

Didn't he cheat on Chas with Emma too? What was his excuse then?

Not really a monster when at that point Emma was battling PND, which was worsened by James' fling with Moira.
