Cat trouble
Went to say goodnight to the cat tonight, if she's awake, otherwise I leave her alone. But tonight she's walking around very slowly around the room and totally ignoring me, I've never seen anything like this before, She normally loves fuss

Just keep an eye on her, note any strange symptoms or change in eating patterns and if still concerned, take to vet. Could be something - or nothing!

If you look up stroke symptoms, where they lose their sight for a bit, they start sticking to the sides of the room and walk slowly round to gain awareness of where they are. I think this happened to mine about a year before (I think) she died from another stroke.

Brilliant, £220 pets bill and blind cat
I just looked back at this photo of her and you can see the bleeding in the eye, I never noticed http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21...ps48qvkqru.jpg Only had her 4 months

Poor puss!
Is she totally blind? Even if she is, she should be able to adapt to it. She'll have to be an indoor only cat or only have access to an enclosed garden or run. To keep her stimulated concentrate on toys that are noisy - have bells or are scrunchy. I'd join some more cat orientated forums too to get more detailed advice than you will on DS. I'm a member of Petforums.co.uk which has a lot of cat owners on. |
