Sad to see Lesley go. I felt she had another couple of weeks in her at least. It wasn't her dance though. Sometimes it's luck of the draw in terms of which dances the couples who are towards the middle standard plump for, and one routine that doesn't suit can get them ousted. An inspiration nevertheless

Right, turning over now for the Born Free story . I loved these films when I was a child.

That's what I was thinking. Not even Claudia F could have made that look flattering.

No way, Flavia is really stunning. May be the body is similar, but Flavia has stunning features. I think she was wearing Anita's wig.

Judge Rinder looked like he had a little leakage from his eyes when he went to say goodbye to Lesley. She was a joy to watch and had a great rapport with Anton. Her presence on the show will be missed massively.

She didn't even seem at all surprised. Her expression was almost annoyed I thought. Mind you she seemed to have the same expression from when she finished her dance last night all the way through to her last dance with Anton, a mixture or resignation and annoyance.

Ed Balls should have gone.

He is not entertaining for me and embarrassing.

Then again he could provide me with a coffee break during the later shows when he is on. So why not.

Funny you can predict who is going to be in the DO, just by reading posts on here!
Lesley I thought would be one, but at the start of the second' heartbeat ' round I said 'Daisy'.
I just knew it wouldn't be Ed or Greg because despite them being rubbish dancers, everyone, on here at least, seems to vote for them!

Love? He's an MP, where on earth does an MP get a fan base and lots of love from the GBP from? I think its more people wanting to see what they deck him out in for Halloween and what other joke dance he will have to perform for laughs. He is becoming the court jester of Strictly, but believe me, I doubt its love that keeps people voting for him, they just want a good laugh or to see if he really will drop Katya on the next lift.

I thought Lesley seemed a bit better in the DO, whereas I thought Daisy was worse - and I didnt like her performance the first time round.
Though clearly the judges saved the better dancer.”

Yes they both looked very down when their names were announced and both, I think, realised that they were out. Much as I liked Ed Balls, I thought he was the only one they stood a chance against, pretty shocked that it was Daisy & Aliaz. I think A & L knew then that they were out. They both looked very down, I am really sad as I loved watching them and could imagine them being great fun at Halloween!

She has done four amazing dances back to back and the one night she has a bad one she gets voted off, wheres the justice in that? And her DO dance was a definite improvement on Saturdays attempt.

I don't vote for them. Both are rubbish and I want good dancers to go through to the final, not mediocre.

Yes where were all these voters when he lost his seat 😂

There have been 3 ex MP's on the main series as far as I can remember, Edwina Currie and Anne Widdecombe, along with Ed this time. He's the first ex MP on the show who is really likeable, for me Edwina and Anne are arrogant personalities, and I didnt enjoy them on the show. If Ed Balls can change the perception of the GBP that not all MP's are dreadful, then he's done a good job

*end of rant*

Decent singer for once. Songwriter forgot to include the tune. Horrid dress on a woman with no cleavage.

Anyone watching with the subtitles on tonight had a bit of unintended hilarity when Claudia was interviewing them after they were safe in the kiss and cry area and she said, "Anastacia...", and the subtitles said, "Anti-semite".

It was quickly corrected to Anastacia. You often get daft mistakes like this on live shows, when the subtitles are appearing as the words are spoken. On pre recorded programmes such as soaps, dramas and documentaries and so on, the subtitles are generally prepared in advance. Thus sometimes if you are watching a non live show with subtitles on, the words will actually appear on screen slightly before the actor or presenter on screen actually says them.

One wonders, therefore, why the subtitles for the Strictly results show are not prepared and checked in advance to avoid howlers like the above.

Perhaps the BBC wants to maintain the pretence that the Sunday show is live, and if the subtitles were loaded in in advance, viewers with the subtitles on would notice the difference between that and the Saturday show, and then realise - shock, horror! - that the Sunday night results show wasn't live.

I would have thought that most Strictly viewers would know by now that the Sunday show is recorded the night before, and "Let's recap what happened last night" really means, "Let's recap what happened three hours ago." But maybe I'm wrong.

I'm new to this thread - great reading all the views. Just a question that's been bugging me sorry if its already been discussed but as I said i'm new

Anastacia said on ITT the other day that on the American version of Strictly that don't have a dance off just wondered how they whittle the couples down or is it purely on the judges marks.

They just do what Strictly used to do - combine the judges scores with the public vote and the one with the lowest total goes without anyone having to dance again or a chance to get saved by the judges. I believe the only difference is the way they convert the judges marks and public votes into scores - I think they use some kind of percentage system but I'm not sure exactly how it works.
