Very sad to hear that legendary British comic artist has passed away, he was only 53.
I adored his work as I grew up reading 2000AD, Eagle, Scream and other IPC titles throughout the 1980s, also the Doctor Who Weekly and Monthly where he went on to create Abslom Daak, Dalek Killer.
His work for Preacher was phenomenal too.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

My favourite artist. Too shocked to take it in.

Very sad news. I mostly knew him through his 2000AD and Warrior work, but he was always excellent.

I've just heard the news after coming off a very long flight. What terribly sad news. He was such a talented and distinctive artist. How awful.

Oh no. Huge fan of Steve Dillon. Matt Smith - current editor of 2000AD - his all time favourite Judge Dredd story is Cry of the Werewolf, art by Steve Dillon.

One of the all time greats of 2000AD. RIP.

I remember when I first started reading 2000AD back in the 80s, I loved his work on Rogue Trooper. He was so consistent, distinctive and talented. Preacher was great. Even his most recent stuff on the Punisher was excellent. There was a crisp, clean elegance to his work. I don't think I'd realised how much I liked his stuff until I heard this sad news.

He certainly knew how to draw his werewolves
Always loved this cover from Scream! (issue 8)

Axel Pressbutton was another favourite of mine in Warrior comic magazine.

Axel Pressbutton, Rogue Trooper, Preacher... he drew an awesome Judge Anderson iirc. Given his great run on Animal Man and so many more this is indeed a very sad day
