It says on Facebook Laura has an ankle injury and therefore won't be dancing tonight, what a shame for her and Giovanni.

Oh no She's my favourite. I hope all is ok

Will she get a bye pass to next week?

Oh that's a shame! Must be so frustrating to spend all week learning a routine to not end up doing it
she tweeted; 'Today is not a good day. Positive thoughts 🙏🏼' on Thursday so it must've happened then!

Unless I see an Ugg boot and frozen peas, I shan't believe it

Only has a bye for one week. If she can't dance next week she's out.

Think Strictly is a bit cursed at the moment, lots of bad luck

The studios should be searched for a small bag containing unidentifiable bones, feathers and herbs. It's a terrible year for illness and injury

It's all going a bit 2009 isn't it? Have we been robbed of a taxi dash vt complete with bag of frozen peas a la Laila Rouass?? 😣

It's fair enough that they get a bye 'til next week but it will probably seem a bit rough on whoever goes tonight. A tricky situation.

Edit - Unless the person that goes is a complete duffer!

I was slightly pleased to hear this because I was worried for Laura this week, but I'm gutted we won't see her Jive and I wish her a speedy recovery.

Gets a bye! Hmmm getting suspicious again. Just hope none of my favourites get the push or I'll start to rant.

It's also on Twitter Moments...my other half, who hates SCD, just had great joy in telling me, so I looked on here for confirmation, and I am loathe to say my other half knew something about SCD before I did 😈

The Beeb really is having an unfortunate SCD series, this year.

IF Laura is well enough to dance next week then she might have lucked out there a bit - given her performances in Latin dances so far I'm not convinced she'd have done a great Jive.

Should they be getting extra contestants next year to have inventory? With 'flu season, injuries and a withdrawal, might be good to have a few spare, or maybe Claudia and Tess could take a turn....?

I wish Laura a speedy recovery too, am worried she won't be able to continue in the competition at all though. Her ankle injury must be quite serious if she has been advised not to dance and she'd need to be back in training Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest for next week. Any dance will put a strain on her ankle.

This won't help their momentum in the competition either. Many will feel dubious they've been given a pass to next week.

A couple of mental conspiracy theorists on the internet who don't matter one jot will feel dubious they've been given a pass to next week.

That's a shame - I hope it's not too bad and she can get back next week. I'm actually surprised more people don't get injured doing Strictly - maybe it's just my clumsiness, but the idea of learning some of the spins and flicks in the heels they wear seems extremely unlikely without me potentially breaking something.
